Susie’s Dress Edit: The One Style Tip To Remember
It’s dress season, and many of us have upcoming events to look forward to in the coming months! I don’t know about you, but when I’m not looking for a dress I find one, and when I need one, I can’t find one!! Sound familiar? Take my advice, and when you find a dress you love, get it. Lately, I’ve been getting daily messages asking what to wear to various types of celebrations. My answer is always the same: a dress! Right now, dress options are endless, and whether you’re attending a wedding, graduation, cocktail party, or just going on vacation, there’s one for every occasion.
What is the style tip that’s a must? Well, you must have two or three (or more) dresses in your wardrobe that you can easily reach for when getting ready for your events. This will help you always be prepared, whether in advance or last minute. You want to be looking good and feeling great when heading out the door! See below for the three I recommend.
Today’s post is a major dress edit, and I’m sharing with you my favorite trends. Since I personally have a handful of events coming up, I’ve been doing A LOT of dress research … and in order to help you narrow down your choices, I’ve put together all my selections below. There’s everything from a pretty floral dress to the popular dress that keeps selling out to a classic LBD. I’m also including what to wear underneath, and of course, the shoes and accessories you need to pull your outfits together. I hope this post is helpful and gets you inspired. Cheers! 🥂
P.S. My daughter Emily has a section on the blog called “Em’s Picks,” and we’re all loving her new post called “The Wedding Guest Dress Guide.” You can read it here!

Three dresses everyone should own
A little black dress – My favorites include this best-selling ALC Renzo, this strapless, easy-to-pack Norma Kamali, and a versatile, always-chic slipdress like this Vince one.
An easy everyday dress – These are dresses you can wear to daytime events. Try a classic shirt dress like this Veronica Beard style, a striped one like this one, or this affordable one. And, of course, a white dress is always nice to have. Love this Milly one. Also, you can never go wrong with a floral style (we love Zimmermann around here). I just purchased this one. and this longer style is gorgeous too.
Casual dresses – Easy, throw-on dresses are perfect for vacation or warm summer days. I basically live in these once the weather goes above 80. This Frank & Eileen one is really good, and Rails dresses like this or this are also perfect. For super comfy options, a t-shirt style dress is great, and you might like this one and this one.
