10 Outfit ideas to get you through winter ❄️

There’s lots of pre-spring talk in the fashion world, which is always really exciting … but we do still have eight weeks of winter to go! And, since many of us are just trying to get dressed on a daily basis, I thought I’d put together some outfit ideas that will make it easy and quick. Just this week, several of you asked me for suggestions on what to wear to a concert, a wedding and on a long flight. So, today’s post will give you 10 outfit ideas to get you through winter, whether it’s raining, cloudy, or just plain cold. They are versatile and stylish, and will come together in no time.

Several weeks ago, when my daughter Em and I were doing some last minute Christmas shopping, we got side-tracked and ended up in the “Alpine Attire” section of Nordstrom. Never mind that neither of us has skied in years 😂 We loved the look, and since the aprés-ski vibe is everywhere, you can get it too — just find a cute sweater and add your favorite jeans and boots. Keep reading to get outfit ideas, as well as winter staples that work for everyone and a board for those of you who ski. Traveling seems to be on everyone’s mind, whether you’re dreaming, planning or actually going on vacation. Winter outfits are pretty easy to put together if you start with good denim and a white tee. Pretty much any jack or coat will work, then add a cute hat, a scarf and shoes that are appropriate for wherever you’re going. Finish with a couple of accessories and … voilà! #5 New workwear

I’ve been getting lots of requests for work outfits, and it’s something I plan on sharing soon. These cropped trousers are a version of the top-selling Effortless Pant from Aritzia. Since they come in petite sizes, I snapped them up. If you need a good basic black trouser, the stretchy cotton one by Frame is a favorite. Add slingbacks and you’ll look a little more updated than if you wear a regular pump. For a more affordable option, I love these Sam Edelmans.

#6 Rainy day inspo

Several weeks ago, I was in London for a ten day work trip, and the weather was a mixed bag of rain, clouds and even a little sunshine. Whether I was trend shopping in Notting Hill or sipping tea in Selfridges, I realized that everywhere I looked, all the cool girls were wearing a “uniform!” Yep, they all had some version of this outfit: a long wool coat, denim, black boots, a scarf and a posh designer handbag (everything from YSL to Chanel to Gucci). That gave me inspiration for this post 😉

A couple of days ago, two different people asked for help on what to wear for a night out and a concert. For going out, I love blouses as long as they can be a touch sexy, and not too work-y! In fact, the Frame Gillian I’m wearing above is an all time favorite. If you like to wear black, then a pretty black blouse is a must-have in your collection. You’ll always feel glamorous in black!

A while back, I popped into the Nordstrom Beauty department for a little refresh. Thankfully, my good friend and trusted resource Kirk was there to show me his top 10 picks. And, since he’s a beauty stylist, he knows what’s selling and what’s important for all of us to use in order to feel rested and refreshed! I use all but three of these products (3, 4 and 6), although I just purchased the Charlotte Tilbury Setting Spray.
