7 Spring Denim Styles That Should Be On Your Radar
This past week, our weather miraculously went from chilly, non-stop rain to beautiful spring-like weather in the 70’s. When you live in the PNW, the weather is always a hot topic, and we’re often complaining 😂 This time of year can be a little tricky when it comes to getting dressed, but having a solid collection of denim staples is always a good place to start. And since the warm weather is right around the corner, it’s time to think about all the cute outfits that revolve around denim.
Today’s post is about 7 spring denim styles that should be on your radar for spring and summer 2025. While denim is almost always trending, this season there are other key pieces that will help switch up all your outfits. I’m talking about denim dresses and jackets, the coolest accessories in shades of blue, and of course, the controversial denim trend that’s showing up all over Instagram! Keep reading to see trending styles, how to wear them, and why keeping your denim updated is so important. 💙

Left: Red top | Denim skirt | Sandals | Middle: Denim jacket | Striped shirt | Jeans | Right: Button up | White jeans | Sweater over shoulders
#1 Skirts

Left: Pink tee | Denim skirt | Slingbacks | Right: Polo top | Denim skirt | White skirt | Scarf | Tote | Sandals | Sunnies
Skirts have been trending the past couple of seasons, and they’re a nice alternative to jeans when the weather warms up. They’re also easy to style: try pairing a skirt with a slingback for a sophisticated look, and of course, sandals (and even sneakers) work too! This L’Agence one is SO good, and look at this écru skirt I just purchased for under $100.
Favorites I highly recommend
Midi styles: This skirt by Cinq a Sept, J.Crew pencil skirt, Max Mara pleated style
Shorter knee length styles: L’Agence denim and white, this one by Veronica Beard and the Frame one above
#2 Wide-leg Denim

Left: Cinq a Sept jacket | Paige jeans | Right: Blouse | Tweed jacket | Jeans | Clutch | Zoe Chicco bracelet | Candle | Sandal
Talk about an update! This is the single best way to give your wardrobe a refresh. This spring, wide-leg jeans continue to be the reigning silhouette and I recommend either a long length or cropped — both are super stylish. Style them with boxy tops like this and slightly oversized third pieces, like this jacket.
Best-selling long lengths: Paige Annessa 31″, Frame Le Slim Palazzo and Mother Roller, Rag & Bone featherweight
Best-selling cropped styles: Paige Anessa, AG Saige, Madewell and Mother Rambler (slimmer wide leg)
#3 Denim Jackets

Left: Sweatshirt jacket | Jeans | Shirt | Right: Denim jacket | Green top | White jeans | Tote | Sandals | Necklace
Denim jackets are a wardrobe staple that everyone should own — they’re versatile and you’ll wear them for years
Favorites I highly recommend
The Rag & Bone Miramar collection looks like denim but it’s really a sweatshirt! Look at this hooded one and the one I’m wearing above
Embellished styles: This one by Cinq a Sept and this Rails one
Other cool ones include this Rails utility jacket, this oversized Pistola one and this one
#4 Denim Dresses

Left: Denim dress | Green bag | Right: Cardigan | Print denim dress | VB denim dress | Sandals | Bag | Bracelet
Denim dresses are everywhere this year! I really like this longer style by Veronica Beard, as well as this shorter one by Cinq a Sept. My all time fave is the Mary by Frank & Eileen which now comes with a ruffle collar — so cute! Find one you love, and you’ll wear it now, through summer and into the fall.
Other favorites
This Rails one that also has a longer length version, and this embellished Zimmermann
#5 Denim Shirts and Shackets

Left: Ruffle denim shirt | Jeans – petites here | Sandals | Right: Shacket | Tank | Linen pants | Dior book tote | Sandals
A denim shirt or shacket is incredibly versatile this time of year. You can wear it open layered with a tank under, and add shorts, a matching jean, black travel pants or knit pants for a cool off-duty look.
Denim shirt recommendations: The only one I love is this Frank & Eileen — comes in several colors, and the newest has a ruffle colllar
Denim shacket recommendations: This one by Mother, this écru by Ag, and this cool Anine Bing faded shacket
#6 The Controversial Jean Everyone Loves … or doesn’t
Barrel jeans are still having a moment, and while they look bad on me 🤷🏻♀️ I think they’re super cool if you can pull them off. They’re definitely worth trying if you’re 5’4″ and taller (I just made that number up!) but I think they can be a bit unflattering on us shorties. Style them with pointy toed shoes and a cool jacket — so chic!
