The Wardrobe Essential Everyone Should Have In Their Closet
You know those days when you can’t think of anything to wear? Or, you’re just in a hurry with no time to outfit plan? Believe it or not, this happens to me on a regular basis! And, after spending hours in my closet making cute outfits and showing them to you on Insta, sometimes I just need a breath of fresh air! Since I’m always antsy to leave my house and get stuff done, I quite often grab a button up for a stylish solution. As you might guess, this is the wardrobe essential that everyone should have in their closet.
When it comes to building a “forever wardrobe,” there are a handful of pieces that everyone should have in their closet, and a button up in either white or blue is one of them. This simple piece pairs perfectly with many other items in your wardrobe, from your favorite denim to leather to skirts … and so much more! For stylish options, I prefer button-ups that are gently oversized so they’ll update your outfits. Keep reading to see which ones I think are worth the money, and of course, how to style them. Start thinking ahead to spring! ☀️

White Button-ups
I have three personal favorites that, in my experience, work for everyone.
Frank & Eileen: this Frank & Eileen Eileen button-up in classic denim is one of my highest recommendations. It’s slightly oversized, works for all seasons, and has impeccable quality.
Rails: if you live in a warm climate, the Rails Ellis (more sizes here) is made of organic cotton gauze and is a lightweight option that’s perfect for warmer months.
Banana Republic: for an affordable version, everyone talks about this one from Banana Republic which got great ratings on InStyle. It’s also available in petite sizes.
Blue Button-ups
Right now, all the cool girls are wearing blue button-ups, and there are many ways to style them. The most stylish pairing is with denim, which gives them a tonal look. Then, your third piece options are endless. Look at this J.Crew one or this TWP one with the cool sleeve detail. Trust me — you’ll wear it for years to come!
