I’ve got the inside scoop on the Nordstrom Sale!
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is still going strong, and whether you’ve started shopping or you’re working on your wishlists, there are still some really good finds out there! This is a time to make careful, thoughtful purchases, and to make sure the pieces you buy combine to make many different outfits. And, speaking of great outfits, it’s also a good opportunity to pick up those key pieces that are the backbone of every good wardrobe. So, keep reading to get the inside scoop on the sale and to see some of my personal favorites!
What about the inside scoop? Well, the items in this post are ones I’ve recently purchased and tested, or I already own and love them. I’m sharing recommendations based on over 30 years of covering the sale, so you can trust that I know what I’m talking about 😉 This is in keeping with my authenticity promise to you. That is, I will only recommend things I’ve tested myself, I own, or that are vouched for by a trusted colleague. I’m also including several items that aren’t on the sale, but that are must-haves in my opinion.
Pro-tip: Remember, if an item you really love has sold out, put an incorrect size in your shopping bag, then keep checking on it — frequently. The inside scoop on inventory? It changes hourly! #1 Great denim
One of the best things to purchase on the Anniversary sale is denim. Just this morning I checked inventory, and both Paige and AG — two of my favorite brands — are in stock! I’m wearing the Paige Claudine in the opening photo, and it’s a favorite fit that everyone loves. Don’t wait on these great styles.

#2 Travel faves
If you have any upcoming travel plans, now is the time to grab a new suitcase! There are many good ones on the sale, including brands like Monos, Tumi and Beis — all bestsellers. Also, you might want to try a cute poncho, and this Nordstrom wool/cashmere one is perfect for travel.

#3 Lingerie basics
Now is the time to stock up on basics, and the lingerie department is full of amazing items. Natori is a personal favorite brand, and the best-selling Rose Dream bra is on sale — talk about comfortable! If you like a sexy bra, this Natori Feathers is the one, and it gets great ratings. I just recently picked up this Chantelle Norah, and I’ve been wearing it non-stop. You might need a strapless bra, and the Wacoal one is a stylist favorite (the Red Carpet style is on sale). If you’re looking ahead for gifts, Barefoot Dreams is a brand to stock up on. Whether you want a cozy robe, a blanket or fuzzy socks, these items are a great choice.

#4 Don’t forget the men!
Several months ago, I wrote this blog post about giving my husband a makeover. I was surprised at how many of you could relate! I used to help quite a few men during the Anniversary Sale, so I know it’s the perfect time to grab a few things for the men in your life. Thankfully, it’s pretty easy to shop for men. I recommend starting with great jeans, a cool jacket or two, sweaters and current sneakers or even boots. Below are some styles to consider.

Zella is a favorite brand, and they have some of the best activewear, including their famous legging and jogger. I love this quilted jacket (which runs big), as well as this tennis dress and these socks. These are faves for sure!
