A white shirtdress goes with every summer shoe you own. From sneakers to slide sandals to higher heels, this is a dress style you’ll enjoy all season long. Check out this under $100 version, and if you’re up for a splurge, this Max Mara is gorgeous!

One of the most versatile pieces to own in the summer is a denim shirt. Pair it with more denim for a cool double-denim look, throw it on over any sundress (fasten the first couple of buttons and tie it as the waist), or leave it open over a tighter tank top and scrunch up the sleeves. This tie-front version will work with everything, and a simple style like this Frank & Eileen shirt is a good one too!

Whether you add new shorts, a skirt or a pair of jeans, white denim should be your go-to piece for every summery top. Lately, I’ve been wearing these Levi’s 724 on repeat – they do stretch, so size down. I also highly recommend the Mother brand “Dazzler” jean, which is a slim, straight leg style.

Graphic tees are always a favorite and are perfect for summer. They go with a breezy summer skirt, your favorite denim shorts, and of course with every single jean you own! My two recent purchases are this one by Chaser, and this cool Pink Floyd one. The best selections are at Revolve, Shopbop and Nordstrom.

Known for its versatility and comfort, a simple maxi dress can easily take you from running errands to a backyard barbecue to cocktails on the patio. If you’re chilly, throw on an oversized white shirt and tie it at the waist for a stylish way to stay warm on a cool summer night! For a casual, knit style, look at this easy elegant one, or this fun, tie dye one.
#7 Crossbody Bag
My clients thank me when I convince them to buy a smaller crossbody bag. It’s perfect for running around hands-free, and it feels good to only carry around the essentials. And, it is the finishing touch to every outfit! This tiny little Gucci handbag is the perfect bag and works for everything from daily errands to dressier events. You’ll also be surprised at how much fits inside! Reading glasses, lipstick, and credit cards … all the basics we all need 🙂
#8 Denim Jacket
A great denim jacket is the year-round staple we can’t live without. Wear it over a summer dress with the sleeves casually rolled up, or tie it around your waist. My current favorite is the Levi’s Ex-Boyfriend trucker style — it’s slightly oversized (but not too big) and has pockets that make it extra comfy! Try it in a lighter wash or in white for summer.
