My Absolute Favorites … And Why I Recommend Them!
Since we’re at the beginning of a new season, I thought it would be the perfect time to share some absolute favorites for fall that I highly recommend. This is one of my very favorite posts to write, because I love showing you items that are tried and true (in my opinion). My goal is to keep you all in the know! Of course, I follow my “authenticity promise” whenever I write anything for So Susie. I’m always honest, and I only share things that I own, have tried on myself or have helped clients purchase. In other words, you can trust what I recommend.
These fall favorites are pieces that I’ve personally tried, and that I guarantee are really good. There’s a bit of a mix — everything from the perfect pair of scissors (yes everyone needs them) to the stylish jean I think is worth buying to a newer brand I just discovered. Grab a cup of tea, this post is a little long — but I hope it’s helpful! 😊

The Shoe That’s About to Be Everywhere This Fall
Fall Edition: Denim

Left: White blazer | Black jeans | Sandals | Bag | Right: Cropped trench | Jeans | Knit top | Dior bag | Sandals
#1 – The TikTok viral sweatpant jean – I know this sounds wild, but the Miramar collection at Rag & Bone has the best-selling “jeans” around, and everyone seems to love them. They’re super comfy and run roomy, but once you find your size, you’ll likely go back for a second pair … they’re that good. I highly recommend the Sofie or this wide-leg one. Remember to size down since they run big. Use my code SUSIE20 for 20% off sitewide at Rag & Bone!
#2 – Petite jeans – Talk about a game changer if you’re 5’4″ and under! The knee placement is higher, and the rise and inseam are shorter, so everything fits where it should. Try the Mother Hustler Roller — especially love this light wash or this black-ish wash. Another fave is the Frame Le Slim Palazzo in this dark black wash (brand new). And of course, the Paige Anessa style that is everyone’s favorite! Anthropologie has the best selection of petites, and so does Nordstrom.
#3 – Wide-leg jeans – Same as above except in regular sizes. Look at the Mother Hustler Roller in this light wash or this black ish-wash, and the Frame Le Slim Palazzo in this dark black wash (brand new). As for the Paige Anessa jean that I’ve been going on and on about, you can find my favorite blue pair here and black pair here. To see how they fit everyone, check out this video on Instagram.
#4 – Denim shirt – A denim shirt is a wardrobe staple, and this one by Frank & Eileen is an all-time favorite. Often, denim shirts can be a little bulky, but this one is lightweight and thin, which makes it perfect for layering under many things.

#5 – The softest splurge cashmere sweater – For years, I helped my clients and friends with this sweater. For some reason, it never made it into my closet until last year, when I wanted a simple black sweater. I basically wore it every day for a week straight! It’s available in many colors, including this new shade of brown.
#6 – The best lightweight puffer jacket you’ll ever own – No joke, I wear this jacket every other day this time of year … all the way through May! I take it on every airplane trip, and because it’s thin, you can tie it around your waist if you get too hot. I went with a size small (usually an XS) so I could layer a hoodie or a thin sweater underneath
#7 – The $50 Cashmere sweater – yep, $50 – I know, I keep talking about this sweater — but hear me out. At first, I was skeptical of a $50 cashmere sweater. I thought to myself … there’s no way it could be that good! Then I tried it, and wow have I been impressed. Here’s a style tip: Buy two sweaters in the same color, and wear one layered over a white tee, and wrap the other one around your shoulders – so chic! For really helpful cashmere care instructions, make sure to check out the Quince website.
#8 – Comfortable panties – Shhh don’t tell anyone, but these not sexy, super comfortable best-selling panties are really that good! It’s a secret in the lingerie department: this is the one panty everyone loves (and wears). They’re one size fits all (which is kind of crazy), and they come in several different styles. You’ll thank me later on this little tip 🙂
#9 – This bra works magic – I mean — who doesn’t want a little lift? Your clothes will look better, and I swear you’ll look a little taller and slimmer. And, dare I say … even youthful. A while back, a good friend asked me if I’d gotten a boob job – hah! No was the answer, but I did discover this incredible bra that is pretty, kinda sexy and works magic.#10 – The only scarf you’ll ever need – Hands down, this is the ONLY scarf you’ll ever need, I swear. It’s lightweight, perfect for an extra layer (especially when traveling), and not too bulky. I’ve worn this one for years from fall to winter to spring. All my friends have it, and it’s the only one I recommend. I also take it on every single trip, and can’t recommend it enough
#11 – The tote that looks designer – It’s not often I come across a bag for under $200 that is this good! This handbag (also here in red) looks like a designer piece: it’s durable, holds everything you could possibly need, and every color looks expensive. And, they keep selling out, so grab one now while they’re still in stock
#12 – The stylish boot that elevates your winter outfits – I literally can’t imagine a wardrobe without these boots. They’re the perfect heel height, super flattering on your feet, and they’ll make all your denim outfits that much more stylish. Check out all the colors here — you can’t go wrong with any of them. I rarely say this, but it’s possibly the one boot you could own in two colors. It’s an absolute fave!
Luxurious Items

Susie: Silk robe | Gold table | Right: Table lamp | Books: Italy | John Derian | Slim Aarons
#13 – Signature scent – One of life’s little luxuries is finding a signature scent that you absolutely love. My go-to fragrance is Rouge 540. It’s a little sexy, long lasting, and ideal for every day wear. The amount of compliments I get is crazy — no wonder it’s listed as the #1 most complimented fragrance out there!
#14 – The luxurious silk robe under $200 – There’s nothing better than feeling a little extra in the morning when getting ready for your day. A silk robe will do that, and this washable one is hands down a favorite! My daughter just purchased this pretty color for our upcoming trip to NYC
#15 – The splurge necklace you’ll love forever – There comes a point in life when it’s ok to spend a little on good jewelry. This gorgeous, sparkly necklace was my splurge, and the cost per wear is low since I haven’t taken it off in two years. And, it layers beautifully with everything you already own. I have the 3 inch segment. I also recently added this box chain quad necklace which I also love. If you’re interested, I have a 15% off code: SOSUSIE15
#16 – The coolest cuff around! Ever since I laid eyes on the crazy expensive Tiffany Bone cuff that everyone talks about, it has been on my wishlist. So, when I spotted this more affordable version, I got pretty excited … then it sold out. The minute it came back in stock, I ordered it, and I’ve worn it many times. It’s a classic piece you’ll have for years, and it makes a statement so you hardly need any other jewelry. It’s in stock – but won’t be for long!#17 – New fragrances I can’t stop wearing – I’m always looking for the next signature scent, and here are two that I highly recommend. For a summer scent, Portofino by Victoria Beckham is dreamy and will instantly remind you of vacation. Another one to try is Portrait of a Lady, which is a beloved, long lasting scent that can be worn any time of year. I know perfume is tricky to buy online, so next time you’re near the fragrance counter, I recommend giving both a whiff!
#18 – Pretty things – Sounds a little basic, but at this stage of life, we want to be surrounded by pretty things that make us happy. This Diptyque scented oval is one of those items. I love it so much that I always give one as a hostess gift, and I share it with my favorite people for the holidays. The soft scent is calming and lovely, and it’s perfect for a bathroom, closet, or your nightstand

#19 – La Mer Moisturizing Creme – I know this is a huge splurge, but one jar will last you a very long time, and you only need the tiniest amount. When you pat it on your face, not only is it super hydrating, but it gives you an instant, radiant glow. Trust me on this one — it’s worth every penny! Go ahead, treat yourself ⭐️
#20 – Brows – I used to think brows were’t a big deal … until I got a little older, and some hairs started falling out 😳 That’s when I realized that brows are one of those non-negotiables for looking good every day. Highly recommend this one — it’s super easy to apply, and it has a built-in brush. I won’t leave home without doing my brows with it every morning! (I also had my eyebrows micro-bladed several year ago)
#21 – The mini-spa in a jar — During the early days of the pandemic, I discovered the Colleen Rothschild cleansing balm. I’ve given it as gifts to all my friends and family, and still use it regularly. It’s quite luxurious, and your skin will feel smooth and nourished. And, it smells good too
#22 – If you want compliments on your skin, I swear by the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation! You can wear it lightly, or a little heavier for fuller coverage, and it’s easy to apply
#23 – My go-to lip combo every single day (that people always ask me about) – This liner, this Charlotte Tilbury lipstick and this Chanel gloss. I have a combo in my handbag, and in travel bag as well
Home Items

Susie: Anthropologie dress | Umbrellas | Serena & Lily sofa | Right: Ginori plates | Bamboo flatware #24 – The best-selling hand soap you have to try! It’s not often I fall in love with hand soap, but this one smells really good. It pairs beautifully with this lotion and they look beautiful on the white porcelain tray by my kitchen sink. If you’re looking for a great gift, this is worth considering
#25 – Finally got some grown up bedding, and this new duvet cover and pillow shams look pretty in the bedroom. Now I’m actually making my bed everyday!
#26 – Coffee table books – One can never have enough books, and Amazon has the best selection. Check out this blog post for some favorites
#27 – Gingher scissors – A while back, three friends told me how they all bought these scissors and what a game changer they are. I don’t know how I dealt with dull scissors my whole life — I’m so glad these came alon!. Run and get them, you’ll thank me later
Travel Basics
Left: Spanx crew and matching pant, similar | Sandals | Right: Spanx half zip and matching pant
#28 – The tech item that brings so much happiness – Sounds a little over the top, but I always bring a speaker on every trip. Just this past week in Santa Fe, it was nice to listen to my music while getting ready!
#29 – The #1 must-have travel bag – If you’re traveling anytime soon, this Beis Mini Weekender bag is a must-have. It is the perfect size, holds everything you need, and has a “trolley pass-through” that fits over your luggage handle — talk about convenient! Oh, and the price is really good too. I take this carry-on bag on all my trips. #30 – Travel sets that are perfect for any destination – These 100% super comfy cotton travel sets are amazing, and I tested one on a long flight to Europe. Not only will you feel comfortable, but you’ll also look put together on arrival. And, they aren’t just for travel — try them on weekends or when lounging at home. My favorites are the Milan, Mailbu or Carmel.#31 – I finally upgraded to these Apple Earphones – and wow what a game changer! Just the noise cancelling option alone makes airplane travel so much better.
