Stylist-Approved: Best-Sellers That Are Actually Worth it!

You might already know that I spent my entire career working at Nordstrom. Not only did I develop a love of retail, but I also learned a lot about the business of fashion — everything from how to give excellent customer service to merchandising to selecting the very best products for all the stores. It was an amazing 25+ years, and I’m very grateful for all the time I spent there. It’s because of this experience that I’m able to show up here every day and share what I know with all of you 😊

A while back, I told a friend (also a former Nordstrom Buyer) that writing this blog reminds me of our days as buyers. Back then, before computerized reporting, we’d sit in our offices counting tickets by hand to track what sold in-store every day. Often, I’d be the last one on the entire floor … counting tickets. Sounds tedious, but it was really fun to see what was selling! Now, I’m doing a similar thing by sharing my picks here, seeing what you buy and revealing the winners. Why these best-sellers are so good

Farm Rio jacket – love this quilted jacket, and the colors are gorgeous. It quickly sold out at Nordstrom, but I found it in stock here

Soft white dress – the Nordstrom collection has some of the best pieces, and there are some styles that everyone loves, including this dress. This one in particular is really good because of the flattering ruching, and the fact that it has sleeves! Available in two other colors here

Madewell tote – I’ve gone on and on about Madewell totes. They’re durable, well-priced, and the woven detail adds a little texture to simple outfits. See all the colors here

Leather jacket – Love the cool bubble hem, and how gorgeous is this shade of burgundy? It’s part of the NSale, and I used it in the recent Pre-Fall Capsule which you can see here

Varley set – this matching 1/2 zip and short is so good — super comfortable and available in many colors. This new blue color is pretty

Printfresh pj’s – this is a favorite pj brand, and I think they make some of the best pjs around! The prints and colors are always fun

Denim – jeans are always top sellers, and this week, it’s all about the Bookie Twist and this darker Paige Anessa (more details below)

Here are the jeans I talk about all the time that everyone loves

Mother Lemon Twist – this past spring I attended an LTK creator event, and at least five people (including me) had on the Lemon Twist jeans! You’ll love the cool twisted seam, and they’re a looser, wide-leg jean that will update every jacket hanging in your closet. If you’re 5’4″ and under, they also come in petite sizing which you can find here and here

Mother Bookie Twist – as you can see, a twisted seam detail is showing up everywhere, including on the Paige Anessa. My daughter and I both love these jeans, and even wrote a new Substack article on them here

Paige Anessa – these fit almost everyone, including all my stylist friends! They’re soft and stretchy, come in many washes, and all sizes including petites (here and here), as well as ankle lengths. Look at this new darker wash, this new brown one and this best-selling ecru style

Mother Hustler Roller – this is another amazing long length style that’s a little more fitted around the hips, and also super flattering. You’ll love this blackish/grayish wash and this brand new light wash. Available in petite sizes here

Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Finish Powder – Everyone loves this setting powder — it’s like an Instagram filter for your face!

Dermaflash – Been getting lots of questions about this little beauty device I’ve been sharing lately! It removes unwanted hair, and gently exfoliates your skin, giving you a bright, glowy complexion. I use it every few days

Armani Luminous Silk Foundation – Newly reformulated, this best-selling foundation just got even better. I’ve used this for over a decade (so have many of you), and it’s one of my highest recommendations. For reference, I use color 5.5

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream – This makeup primer does work “magic” when it comes to applying foundation. It’s moisturizing and smooths texture, making your foundation look seamless

Maison Francis Kurkdjian Trio set – If you love fragrance, this beauty set that’s part of the NSale is the perfect way to get the best-selling Rouge 540, plus two others to try. And, the best part is they’re a travel size, and you can always have one packed and ready for your next vacation

Shark Cryoglow – New to Nordstrom, this six minute treatment has under-eye cooling, and uses Red and Infrared LEDs to help minimize fine lines – and so much more! I own one, and when I take the time to use it (!!), my husband laughs every single time — you do look a little silly but it’s very worth it!
