#1 Kitten Heel Sandals

This is the year of the kitten heel! This season, the simple thong sandal is what everyone is wearing. Think simple, super stylish and very easy to wear. Here are a few faves you might like.

#2 Jellies

Farm Rio top | White jeans | Jelly sandals | Gold bag | Earrings

This is a controversial shoe trend, and recently on Instagram, I gave these shoes (which I bought in the tan color) a thumbs down! I do love a good jelly sandal though, and you’ll see some of my favorites below. They’re surprisingly comfortable, and versatile too.

#3 Embellished Sandals

I recently deemed these Dolce Vita shoes “The Sandal of the Summer.” This is one of those shoes you might consider owning in a couple of colors — I bought the tan and white…I even like the black. They check all the boxes: heel height is not too high, I love the neutral skin-toned color, and a fun embellishment to give them a little extra something. Now I’m seeing embellished sandals everywhere, so don’t miss this great shoe that works with all your summer outfits!

#4 Low Profile “It” Sneakers

Cardigan | J.Crew Polo | Paige jeans | Straw tote | Sneakers | Scarf | Earrings

Sneakers are a must-have in all of our closets, and here are some favorites I think you’ll love

#5 Casual Flip Flops

Tank | Jeans | Flip flops | Straw tote | Necklace | Earrings

Everyone in NYC was wearing casual flip flops, and talk about an easy trend to try

#6 Boat Shoes

Boat shoes are making a comeback thanks to cool brands like Miu Miu. This one by rag & bone is a great style

#7 Woven Shoes

Madewell blouse | Midi skirt | Woven flats | Bag | Necklace | Portofino fragrance

Woven shoes are everywhere and there’s a style for everyone – here’s what I found

But first, I still like black shoes … sometimes

Black shoes can be really tricky, especially when it comes to styling them with dresses — sometimes they can look too severe. Check out this IG video I shared a while back. Lots of people commented, and now when I wear black shoes, people are quick to call me out 😂

Here’s the deal: black boots are a non-negotiable. But, as a stylist, I can confirm that with black shoes, often your eyes go straight to your feet! Yes yes, we all need a great black shoe (or two) in our wardrobes. So, if you do want to wear them, just choose a simple strappy sandal or a slingback. That said, I don’t think they’re super important … especially when boot season ends. Of course, as I always say, if you really love them, wear them!
