The 5 Coolest Things I Found While Shopping In NYC
Last week’s trip to NYC was extra exciting thanks to NYFW festivities 🥂 Our cute little hotel was buzzing with excitement, and there were stylish industry insiders, models and celebrities everywhere! Besides all the people watching, we did a lot of shopping and “blog research.” For this research, I check out all our favorite stores to see the merchandise in person, hoping for some great finds. And, this is the best time of year to start planning ahead since new-season collections are arriving daily.
As we all know, shopping online isn’t necessarily easy. Seeing the product firsthand helps me select the items I’m going to feature on the blog. As always, I strive to remain authentic and honest, so the pieces that end up here are ones I’ve either purchased, helped someone with, tried on, or want to try. This is my “authenticity promise” to you, and I take it very seriously.
It was a very successful trip, and I’m excited to show you the 5 coolest things I found while shopping in NYC! There was one brand that stood out by far, along with a color that was in every collection. Keep reading to see some shopping highlights, tips on what to buy from your favorite brands, and a few recent purchases. We covered a lot of ground in four days, and I’m excited to share it with all of you. I hope you find this post helpful when it comes to making your next online purchases!

Where We Stayed: Fouquet’s New York

Fouquet’s New York
Situated in the Tribeca neighborhood, Fouquet’s is a new hotel that has quickly become a hot spot. I’m so glad I found it! Beautiful interior design, amazing service, and a super cute cobblestone street in front all added to the stay. Of course, the minute we walked into the room, we knew it was going to be the perfect home base. Stay tuned for the complete hotel review in the Travel Section of So Susie, coming soon.
#1 Veronica Beard is looking really good
I have long admired the Veronica Beard brand, and over the years, some seasons have looked better than others (like any brand). But lately they can do no wrong, and both Veronicas (they are sisters-in-law, you can see their story here) have this season’s collection nailed! Everything looks really good, and it appeals to all age groups. The Upper East Side store is a favorite, and this year, it was over the top with merchandising and new arrivals. See below for some favorites you’re sure to love.

Top row: White dress | White shirt jacket | Denim jacket and matching skirt | Striped polo dress | Gold bag | Bottom row: Green sparkle jacket | Green bag | Pink dress | Striped dress
This pink jacket and matching pant are super stylish, and I’d accessorize with a gold bag and sandals
Loving all the bags and shoes — look at this tote and this clutch. Also check out these sandals, these slingbacks and these boating loafers
I just added this jacket and matching pant along with this dress to my shopping cart
#2 Found the best shoes

Rag & Bone gold loafers | Black loafers | Chanel flats | Pink Gola sneakers | Ivory loafers | Pink slingbacks | Chanel denim flats
Between Dallas and NYC, my camera roll is filled with some of the cutest shoes I’ve seen in a long time!
Loving blue shoes like these Manolos, these slingbacks by Veronica Beard, and these denim espadrilles
Since it’s sandal season, look at these flats: here, here and here. For higher heeled ones, consider this Sam Edelman wedge and this Schutz one
#3 Tried on so many dresses!
It’s dress season, and Saks and Nordstrom had many perfect choices for the upcoming season. Whether you need a graduation dress or something for a baby/bridal shower, there are many great options.
#4 Honorable mentions

Perfume | Bag charm | Sleeper pajamas | Travel pouch | Bowl & serving utensils | Handbag | Valentino sandals | Tennis bracelet (on sale!) | Pink pajamas
Scored some pajamas at Nordstrom — the Skims I’m wearing in the board above are super comfy
This cute bowl stopped me in my tracks while shopping in Bloomingdales 🙂
After popping into two different Diptyque stores, I think I’m going to buy this pretty pink candle
#5 Most collections have a touch of blue

Top row: Denim dress | Ivory dress | Ring | Sandals | Handbag | Rag & Bone cardigan | Jeans | Bottom row: Light blue dress | Cinq a Sept dress | Veronica Beard jacket
While shopping in SoHo and on the Upper East Side, stores like Rag & Bone, L’Agence and J.Crew all had beautiful collections with touches of blue throughout
J.Crew finds: The flare jean everyone is talking about, this cute leopard top, this pretty red dress and these fun zebra slingbacks

Susie’s NYC Purchases

Left: Pink feather dress | Coat | White pumps | Em’s Zara coat | Boots | Right: Pink silk robe
I picked up these Skims pjs which are really comfy, and Em got this pretty set
I bought this Frame striped top and this AGOLDE black denim jacket that looks great with the Harper jeans. Also bought this écru denim shirt jacket to go with the Ruler écru jean
I’ve had my eye on these cute Valentino sandals and finally decided to make the purchase
Tried this new fragrance recently, and while I didn’t buy it, I’m still thinking about it!
