I Was Just in Europe and Saw These Fall Trends Everywhere!
I’ve been working with Who What Wear for over four years now, and I continue to be extremely proud to be affiliated with them. As you might imagine, I love writing articles for WWW, and love to share “advice” on fashion and styles. Recently, my friend and Senior Editor Bobby Schuessler noticed that I was in Europe, and he was curious about the trends I was seeing. You can read the article “I’m A Former Nordstrom Buyer – I Was Just In Europe And Saw These Fall Trends Everywhere” here.
As I put together fall outfits, I’ve zeroed in on the most important trends you’ll see for the coming season. If you add pieces little by little, you’ll end up with a wardrobe that feels current and stylish. While traveling around Europe this past summer, I noticed many trends that are worth mentioning, like faux leather, studded belts, pretty gold jewelry and anything with leopard print. There is a lot to consider, so I hope you find a little inspiration below. Keep reading to see the eight cool trends you’ll wear all season long!
P.S. Today’s post is a recap from my latest WWW article. Remember, when the article first appears in WWW, the clothing selections are made by Bobby and his team (he also chooses the title). But, when I recap the article, the items shared are MY picks. I hope you like them!

Shades of Burgundy

AllSaints bomber jacket, similar | Quince slip dress
Burgundy (and other shades of wine) is a fall trend that’s so rich and elegant looking! You’ll be surprised at how versatile the color is to work with. It looks great with almost any other color, particularly with neutrals. I’m seeing dresses and skirts in burgundy, but also shoes and other accessories. This is the perfect fall color.

Belts

Frame blouses here and here | Le Easy Flare jeans | Studded belt
If you purchase one accessory this fall, make it a statement belt. Right now, I’m loving everything with studs — it adds a cool factor to your outfits. I saw Italian and French women wearing belts and denim and other pants, and cinching dresses too.

Skirts

All over France and Italy, there were skirts of all types, long and short, slim and flowy. After seeing the trends from NYFW, it’s clear that everyone should add a skirt or two to their wardrobes!

Gold Jewelry

My daughter and I noticed many beautiful women wearing pretty gold jewelry — layered necklaces, statement rings, timeless watches, and bold earrings. Gold jewelry is classic, so it’s a worthwhile investment!

Leather and faux leather always reappear this time of year. But, in recent weeks, leather is everywhere — from pants and dresses to tops and jackets. Add a piece to any outfit and it’ll instantly elevate it.

Wide-Leg Denim

Rag & Bone slub tee | Paige Anessa jeans | Wedges
Wide-leg jeans are the perfect style for fall. They’re super versatile and work with all your shoes, including sandals and heels. Then when the weather changes, change to a darker wash and transition right into boots! Pair with short-sleeved tops and cozy fall sweaters. This is the denim to own right now.

Leopard Print

Frame blouse | Le Slim Palazzo jeans | Gold sandals | White bag, similar
Everywhere we went in Italy, leopard print was on full display. Whether it was just a hint, like shoes or a skirt, or a bigger statement like dresses, it’s definitely a trend that’s continuing into fall and winter. Add a piece with leopard print to your wardrobe and you’ll look stylish and on-trend.

Polka Dots

I was so surprised to see polka dots on many women in France and Italy! They were mostly wearing dresses or sets, but I noticed some skirts too. Of course, I then started scouring my favorite websites online and spotted many other pieces that are perfect for fall. Polka dots are easy — try a dress or a top in this fun style.
