These Are the 7 Key Staples to Wear This Fall
I love working on articles for Who What Wear, and you can imagine how honored I am when asked for my “advice” on fashion and styles. My partnership with WWW is over four years old now, and I continue to be extremely proud to be affiliated with them. Recently, my friend and Senior Editor Bobby Schuessler asked me which staples I’ll be recommending for Fall 2024. After carefully planning my fall purchases, I’ve zeroed in on the most important trends you’ll wear for the coming season, and I’m excited to share them with you. I’ve found that if you add pieces little by little, you’ll end up with a wardrobe that feels current and stylish. This season, you’ll see wide-leg jeans everywhere, gorgeous shades of brown, touches of leopard and classic wool coats. Remember to focus on items you truly love and feel good in! In my opinion, it’s actually better to have fewer pieces — this makes getting dressed much much easier. Keep reading to see the seven key staples you’ll wear all season long.

1. Brown Everything

Brown is back in a way that we haven’t seen in a while. Between boots, accessories, and new fall clothing, the options are endless. Several designers featured head-to-toe looks down the runways, and brands are following suit. This is a trend I’m looking to add to my own wardrobe come fall — and I’m excited for an alternative to black!
2. Wide-Leg Jeans

If you add one style of denim this season, make it a wide-leg jean! It’ll switch up all your tops and jackets, and you’ll feel modern and up-to-date. When the weather cools off, choose your favorite boots and a cozy sweater for the perfect fall outfit.
3. Classic Wool Coats

Coats are a timeless staple that almost all of us need once fall rolls around, so finding a style you love and that looks good on you sets the tone for your entire outfit! If you grab one early on in the season, you’ll have a longer wearing time. A longer wool style, like the Max Mara above, is a classic. Try one in a brighter color — it’ll give you a lift during the dreary winter months!
4. Anything Leopard

A couple of months ago while traveling in the South of France, I saw women everywhere wearing a touch of leopard print. At this point, t’s a wardrobe classic. Whether you opt for a simple shoe or a scarf or go all out with a dress, adding a leopard piece to your outfit is an easy way to give you an updated look.
5. Blazers, of course

A blazer is an absolute must-have in our wardrobes! This fall, I’ll be wearing this slightly oversized one, paired with a t-shirt and jeans or thrown on over a dress, like above. The fabric is ideal for all seasons, and it’s a style that’s versatile and always on-trend.
6. Cool Leather Jackets

The minute the weather starts to change, a leather jacket is the first thing I reach for. It’s the defining piece for an elevated, stylish outfit. It’s also one of the easiest ways to make your outfits look cool, and who doesn’t want that?
7. Next-Level Blouses
Leopard blouse | Black blouse | Studded belt | Jeans (we’re wearing the same pair)
Finding tops with extra details, like feminine puff sleeves, will elevate all your fall outfits. Whether you wear them with your favorite denim or with a skirt, these are timeless pieces you’ll have for years!
