The October Drop: 6 Pieces You Need Now!

Welcome to the brand new October N6 Drop! Every month, my Nordstrom Stylist friends and I carefully select a monthly drop of six favorite, best-selling items that we think you’ll love! These pieces are well-priced, versatile and super stylish. For October, we picked the “it” jacket of the season, classic cashmere, a modern piece of jewelry, and a few more pieces that quite often sell out quickly. Keep reading to see what they are, and of course, how to style them.

But first … if you’re new around here, I thought I’d share more about the monthly drops and how they came to be. My “Nordstrom 6” friends and I found each other during the early days of quarantine, and instantly bonded. We are all Nordstrom stylists (or former Nordstrom stylists) who started sharing weekly content with you. Our goal was to make shopping both fun and inspiring during that challenging time. Well, four years later, we’re still at it! And, between daily texts and FT calls, we plan our drops, which we share at the beginning of every month. I hope you enjoy them!

P.S. If you’re new to So Susie and want to stay up to date on all things fashion and style, subscribe now and never miss a post! As a thank you, you’ll receive my exclusive “Weekend Roundup,” including special finds that are not on the blog and are only for subscribers ⭐️

The barn jacket is back, and this time around, it has been elevated to the must-have jacket to buy this fall. There are many versions to choose from, and the UK brand Barbour is iconic and love the J.Crew ones. See below for some favorites, and don’t forget the men in your life!

#2 Nordstrom Wool & Cashmere Sweaters

Every year around this time, I start checking the Nordstrom website looking for the cashmere sweaters to arrive. This past week they finally did, and you’ll find everything from the best-selling hoodie to a classic crew to a turtleneck. They always sell out, so don’t wait on grabbing basic colors like black, gray or camel. You’ll have these for seasons to come.

#3 Black Wash Denim

A blackish/grayish jean is really versatile, and it’s one of my personal favorites this time of year. If you love black as much as I do, bringing this color into your denim rotation adds a little more interest to an all-black outfit. Right now, Frame has several jeans in their new “Claudius” wash, which is a good indication they loved it too!

#4 Modern Jewelry

Lately, new styles of jewelry are emerging. Adding an earring or necklace (or anything that catches your eye) is a good way to switch things up. Try a bigger earring like this or this. Also, cool bracelets like this are another option that’s easy to wear.

#5 Slingbacks

Slingback shoes continue to be the shoe of choice for many style set, and you can try wearing them with jeans, skirts and dresses. Any heel height works, and between pointy toe styles or a more square toe style, there’s an option for everyone.

#6 Bags under $500

You don’t need to spend a lot of money on a great handbag! I’m sharing my roundup of great bags under $500
