What is the non-jean trend everyone wants? PANTS!! Trouser style pants are trending hard right now. They’re everywhere, from more casual styles like this Hudson trouser and Paige Carly, to dressier ones like these from Vince. How exciting to find a non-jean option that’s casual, cool and so so stylish! This past week, I shared a packing video from my hotel room in West Hollywood. The idea was to show items you can wear at least three different ways (watch it here). But the number one item everyone messaged me about? These $59 pants I was wearing with a casual tank and denim jacket … not surprising, because they’re amazing!
Today’s post is about trowser-style pants, including the $59 pair I recently purchased, and other non-jean styles as well. This is the perfect new way to mix up some of our outfits. Keep reading for a few styling tips, a new style board, and pant picks I think you’ll love. I promise you’ll love to have a new way to switch up your look that’s casual — instead of always having to rely on denim!

Style board inspo: casual pants
I’m loving this look for warm weather days. Paige Carly trousers are the hot new seller, and this Hudson trouser also gets great reviews. Try them with a heeled sandal like this one, or flat strappy ones like these by Marc Fisher. Add a canvas tote or straw bag, and this will be your go-to summer look … so cute!

The easiest styles to wear are on the more casual side, and can easily be substituted for denim. The first one that comes to mind is the Paige Christy, which I’m wearing above. It’s so soft, and will work perfectly with your favorite sandal. This new one called Carly is an updated version. I used this white one on a style board recently — so cute, and comfortable too!

Style board inspo: dressier pants
A flowy, dressier pants are a great update for going out on the weekends or even to work. They work beautifully with denim jackets, leather jackets and even a relaxed blazer like this favorite from Cinq Á Sept. Try them with a strappy sandal like these from Veronica Beard, or this lower style by Marc Fisher. The Open Edit pant is super cool and such a deal at $59! I wore mine with the Nordstrom $69 cardigan.

Elevated pant options
If you’re going out and want a non-jean option, or want to look a bit elevated at work, then try a flowy, wider leg pant to wear with a heel, similar to the Veronica Beard one I’m wearing above. I’ve started noticing that my stylish, younger counterparts are replacing their denim with these dressier styles.
