Here’s Your Summer Capsule Wardrobe: 12 Pieces, Endless Outfits

One of my favorite things to do for you is find brand new pieces that make truly stylish outfits. For many years, this was my work in “Room 3” at Nordstrom, and it was truly a dream job to help women one-on-one every day. Then this little blog took off, and now I get to give “dressing room experiences” online to many of you across the country! I’m still counting my blessings, since making outfits is my happy place 🤍

It’s always helpful to have endless outfit combinations at your fingertips. This is exactly why I love to create capsule wardrobes — after all, a solid wardrobe foundation makes getting dressed feel easy and effortless. To get ready for summer, I was inspired by fun pops of red, faded blues, and navy blue. These colors are timeless and sophisticated, and they look beautiful together. I’m a big believer in carefully and thoughtfully choosing pieces that can be styled many different ways. Keep this post for reference so you can use it all throughout the season. Happy Summer! ☀️

#1 Denim Jackets

A faded blue denim jacket is always in style, and some favorites include the one below, and this lightweight denim shirt style. Both are versatile and you’ll wear with so many things. I just wore this one as part of my travel outfit this week, with this Quince light blue sweater over my shoulders.

#2 Cotton sweaters

A casual cotton sweater is key for summer outfits, and my idea is to throw it over your shoulders! Other options include this Quince one (love the light blue color) and this J.Crew roll neck one. Layer it over a casual white tee, you’ll wear these all season long.
