7 Spring Denim Styles That Should Be On Your Radar
This past week, our weather miraculously went from chilly, non-stop rain to beautiful spring-like weather in the 70’s. When you live in the PNW, the weather is always a hot topic, and we’re often complaining 😂 This time of year can be a little tricky when it comes to getting dressed, but having a solid collection of denim staples is always a good place to start. And since the warm weather is right around the corner, it’s time to think about all the cute outfits that revolve around denim.
Today’s post is about 7 spring denim styles that should be on your radar for spring and summer 2026. While and ecru denim is always trending, this season there are other key pieces that will help switch up all your outfits. I’m talking about denim dresses and jackets, the coolest accessories in shades of blue, and of course, the controversial denim trend that’s showing up all over Instagram! Keep reading to see trending styles, how to wear them, and why keeping your denim updated is so important. 💙

Left: Denim ruffle shirt | White jeans | Gold sandals | Middle: J.Crew sweater, this year’s color | White jeans | Gold sandals | Straw clutch | Right: R & B Miramar jacket | White jeans | Dior bag
#1 Skirts

Left: Denim jacket, similar | White skirt, similar | Right: Blue floral blouse | Denim skirt | Sandals | Raffia bag | Earrings
Skirts have been trending the past couple of seasons, and they’re a nice alternative to jeans when the weather warms up. They’re also easy to style: try pairing a skirt with a slingback for a sophisticated look, and of course, sandals (and even sneakers) work too! This L’Agence one is SO good, and look at this écru skirt I just purchased for under $100.
Favorites I highly recommend
Midi styles: Love this longer style by Cinq a Sept, this one by COH, and this Madewell one
Shorter knee length styles: This J.Crew one is a great option, and so is this Rag & Bone Miramar one
#2 Denim Jackets

Left: Frame denim jacket | White jeans | Savette bag | Right: Denim jacket | White floral jeans | Gold sandals | Red bag
Denim jackets are a wardrobe staple that everyone should own — they’re versatile and you’ll wear them for years
Favorites I highly recommend
Love this Nordstrom one so much, and it’s under $100
I’ve been wearing this Frame one on repeat, and I always get so many compliments
This L’Agence one is another great wear-with-everything option
#3 Wide-leg Denim
Left: Navy trench | Wide leg jeans | Blue bag | Ivory heels | Right: Frame trench | Plaid blouse | Lemon twist jeans | Floral bag | Earrings | Sandals
Talk about an update! This is the single best way to give your wardrobe a refresh. This spring, wide-leg jeans continue to be the reigning silhouette and I recommend either a long length or cropped — both are super stylish. Style them with boxy tops like this and slightly oversized third pieces, like this jacket.
Best-selling long lengths: Paige Annessa 31″, Frame Le Slim Palazzo and Mother Roller, Rag & Bone featherweight
Best-selling cropped styles: Paige Anessa, AG Saige, Madewell and Mother Rambler (slimmer wide leg)

#4 Denim Dresses

Left: Denim dress, similar – affordable version here | Sandals | Dior bag | Right: Denim shorter dress | Gingham midi dress | Sandal | Straw bag | Bracelet | Cardigan
Denim dresses and shades of blue are everywhere right now. I really like this longer style by Cinq a Sept, as this shorter one that’s available in several colors. My all time fave is the Mary by Frank & Eileen which now comes with a ruffle collar — so cute! Find one you love, and you’ll wear it now, through summer and into the fall.
#5 Denim Shirts

Left: Denim shirt | White jeans | Gold sandals | Right: Anine Bing shirt | Lodge pant | Zara sandals | J.Crew clutch | Frame top
A denim shirt or shirt jacket is incredibly versatile this time of year. You can wear it open layered with a tank under, and add shorts, a matching jean, black travel pants or knit pants for a cool off-duty look.
Denim shirt recommendations: I’ve worn this Anine Bing one on repeat, same with this Frank & Eileen one, and love this new polo one
#6 The Controversial Jean Everyone Loves … or doesn’t
Barrel jeans are still having a moment, and while they look bad on me 🤷🏻♀️ I think they’re super cool if you can pull them off. They’re definitely worth trying if you’re 5’4″ and taller (I just made that number up!) but I think they can be a bit unflattering on us shorties. Style them with pointy toed shoes and a cool jacket — so chic!
