Suddenly, Everyone Is Wearing This Pant & Shoe Combo!
Remember when black pants were a wardrobe staple? For many years, when I wasn’t wearing jeans, I would turn to a great pair of black pants — and at one point, I couldn’t imagine my fashion life without them! Then one day, they started feeling dated, and denim took over, and that was that. So, when I read this Town & Country article about the “cult favorite” pants that everyone was talking about, I was immediately curious and knew they would make it into my wardrobe at some point.
Well now it’s official, the kick flare pant that was once dated is back! That’s right, every fashion girl is wearing this elevated pant trend. After reading this recent Who What Wear article “It’s Spreading: Every Day, Another Chic L.A. Fashion Person Is Seen Wearing This Black-Pant Trend With Ballet Flats,” I decided it was time to get on board. From Paris to NYC to LA, this super easy and effortlessly chic outfit is one we all need to copy — ASAP.
Today’s post is all about how to style flare pants in a modern way, and the pant & shoe combo everyone is wearing. I’m highlighting black pants that I highly recommend, including the Vince Pintuck ones that fit so nicely. And, since I recently ordered the High Sport pants that everyone loves, I’m including my personal review. Keep reading for some street style inspo and a few styling ideas that are perfect for this fall and beyond. I hope you find post this helpful!

Both of these black pants (here and here) are stretchy and super comfortable, making them a great option for travel
Adding modern accessories like this striped scarf and gold earrings will elevate all your outfits
Lately I’m seeing scarf jackets everywhere, and this new one from Barbour is a personal favorite
The Black Pants I Highly Recommend
#1 – The “cult favorite” High Sport knit pants – These fitted pull-on trousers are everything the reviews say. Comfortable, super flattering and versatile. They are expensive due to the Italian fabric and beautiful workmanship, but if you wear them all the time, then I’d say they’re worth the splurge. For reference, I purchased a small in the short option and they’re the perfect length. But, since they’re stretchy, I’m considering sizing down to an XS. More sizes here.
#2 – Vince Pintuck pants – Vince is always a great option, and these Italian cotton-wool stretch pants fit nicely and work with everything from a travel outfit to a night out (add a strappy sandal). I’ve owned these for several years — I took a size small, and had them shortened.#3 – J.Crew Delaney pants – Last year these pants quickly sold out, and so I was pretty excited to see them back in stock last week. They’re super comfy, fit really well (I’ve tested them) and they are available in petites, tall and extended sizes — they’re on sale for under $100 right now!
To get the look for less, check out these pants all under $150: these from Anthropologie (come in petite and tall), and these ones on sale from Spanx (come in petite and extended sizes)
