Denim is always a favorite topic here at So Susie – and for good reason, since so many great outfits start with the perfect pair of jeans. It’s my favorite category of clothing to work with, and I try to stay very current when it comes to the latest styles. It’s one of the reasons I travel for “trend shopping.” On every trip, you’ll find me popping into all my favorite stores and meeting with brand designers to get the inside scoop on what’s new, what’s selling and what should be on the website!

Madewell Pieced Barrel – Can’t say enough good things about Madewell barrel jeans, and the best part is they are available in petite sizes! Click here and here for some great options. Mother Hustler Roller – These might be the favorite pair of jeans in my closet. They’re available in a dark wash denim as well as this perfect washed black color. They’re super flattering, and everyone loves them. Frame slim boot cut – If you’re looking for a dark rinse wash, this style is it. Leg lengthening, slimming and versatile, they literally go with every jacket or coat you have in your closet. If you’re petite, click here — and note that they aren’t cropped like the photo, they’re the exact ones I’m wearing above. Paige Anessa – “The jeans that fit everyone” — and it’s true, they really do fit everyone! The lighter washes are super stretchy, making them very comfortable. I prefer the 31″ which is a long length style. And, if you’re petite, many of the washes are available in a 29″ inseam. These black coated ones are new favorites, and I just picked up this new dark wash from Anthropologie. Look here and here for the best selection.
#1 Barrel-leg Jeans
Yep it’s true, everyone’s wearing a version of this jean! This season, look for more toned down versions like this one from Mother. I think they look best when showing a little ankle, with a slingback or flat shoe. And, when the weather changes, they’re great with a slim, not-too-chunky style of boot.

#2 Embellished Denim
Decorative treatments are appearing everywhere thanks to the several runway shows. I absolutely love this trend! Dress it up with sandals and faux fur, or wear it casually with boots and a cozy sweater. These are the accent details that level up your wardrobe!

These are your go-to-everyday jeans.
