Coastal Prep Edit: 7 Timeless Pieces You Need
I’ve always had a love affair with everything around the Hamptons and other quaint East Coast beachy towns. Of course, the pretty flowers, like hydrangeas and pink climbing roses, are my favorites. Then, of course, are all the coastal vacation outfits! The Ralph Lauren show in the Hamptons last fall was a total showstopper, and the SS25 collection included timeless basics in soft shades of blues, crisp whites and neutral colors. All of it reminded me of a Nancy Meyers movie, and now I’m dreaming about a trip to Nantucket!

Linen is having a moment again, so look for easy-to-weaar pieces that you’ll wear all summer long. Remember, they don’t need to be perfectly ironed. I packed this dress last summer for my trip to Italy, and didn’t iron it once! Some favorites that I recommend include this dress and linen set both from Frank & Eileen. Also, this linen vest and matching pant from J.Crew are good options. The linen shop at Quince is worth checking out — love this and this. And, the number one most worn piece in my closet is a linen pant, and these or these are the ones I wear all the time.

This button-up shirt is one of my highest recommendations, and it really is that good! It’s available in Superluxe Italian cotton, linen and the best-selling denim. I have them all and absolutely love them. The relaxed fit looks good on everyone. Basically, it’s perfect for layering or tying over a dress, wearing open like a jacket or just tucking in. It’s incredibly versatile, and everyone should try it! Style tip: Add a lightweight cashmere over your shoulders for a little extra warmth. I suggest sizing up for a more relaxed look.
