If You Struggle To Make Great Outfits, Here’s Why

This week, I was reminded of the most important shopping tip that even I had been neglecting. For years, I helped my clients one-one-one in the dressing room as we built the best wardrobes together. Everyone always left excited and happy because of this one important stylist tip: buy outfits — not pieces! It sounds simple, yet many of us (including me) end up with pieces that don’t make outfits due to missing key items. If you struggle to make great outfits, this is why.

While at Nordstrom in NYC, I agreed to let my dear friend and stylist Danielle set a dressing room for me. It was really fun, but I ended up spending way more than usual 😉 Here’s why: instead of my usual, which is to buy random pieces, I was more thoughtful and purchased several items that all work together. It’s what I’ve shared over and over on this little blog, yet I hadn’t been doing it myself! So learn from me, and buy wisely. Only bring home pieces that make great outfits and that you’ll wear at least three different ways. You’ll be so much happier!

Today’s post is about everything I found while shopping in NYC, keeping in mind this stylist tip. These are all new spring pieces, like dresses, denim, jackets, shoes and much more. I found more than usual, but keep in mind, I was going back to my old strategy of buying outfits, not pieces. I’m excited to share it all with you, and I hope you get a little inspiration too.
