Your Guide to the Hottest Spring Shoe Trends
My Nordstrom stylist friends and I are in NYC for some meetings, business brainstorming, trend shopping and people watching! You can see what we’ve been up to on my Instagram Story Highlight here. Miraculously, our hotel ended up being just two blocks away from Nordstrom! So, the first free second I had, I wandered through the store taking photos of everything that caught my eye. Funny enough, most of the photos were of shoes! I’m excited to share everything I found with all of you.
Today’s post is a major shoe edit, and shows you the spring shoe trends that are taking over right now. This time of year, the shoe selection is at its best, so don’t miss out! This season in particular, there are several new trends that will make our outfits extra stylish. Must-have styles include everything from snake print to peep toes to the cool loafer everyone is wearing … and the list goes on. Keep reading to see what the trends are, get a little street style inspo, and choose which shoes might be worth adding to your cart. Cheers!

#1 Spring Shoe Upgrade: Snake Print
This season, everyone is talking about snake print — whether it’s cool dresses like this, super stylish blouses like this, or gorgeous shoes like this. My two Nordstrom friends and I all purchased this snake print sandal that’s only $89. Talk about a great neutral to level up all your cool basics!

#2 French Girl Favorites: Woven Shoes
Lately, everyone is wearing a woven style of shoe. Think breathable, airy and light; these pretty braided textures will work with all your spring outfits. I’ve seen versions like this and this that feel very Parisian. This is a top spring shoe trend I’d consider adding to your wardrobe. You’ll wear them with everything from linen pieces to dresses to casual pants.

#3 Elevated Thong Sandals
Every now and then, I can’t get an outfit out of my mind. A while back, Kendall Jenner (above pic) was wearing a combo I couldn’t stop thinking about. Her long linen dress paired with thong sandals and a baseball hat looked so chic! Right now, there are many versions of thong sandals — everything from classic ones like these Veronica Beard ones, to ones with a little heel like this pair. Remember, these aren’t just for the beach. This season you’ll find leather, metallic, architectural lines, fresh details, and thin elegant straps. Bonus: they’re super comfy!

#4 Peep Toes are about to be everywhere
This is one of my personal favorite trends, since they’re comfortable, easy to wear and a great option whether you’re wearing skirts, dresses or your favorite jeans. Right now I love this new Veroncia Beard version that comes in several versions, which you can see here.

#5 Cinderella Shoes
I recently saw that “Cinderella shoes” are making a comeback — which surprised me since I thought they were on the way out! Think clear strap shoes like this best-selling one, or this higher heel splurge one that I’ve been wearing on repeat. Along similar lines are jelly shoes, like this pair by Veronica Beard. They elongate your leg, and they basically go with every single thing in your closet.

#6 Loafers Redefined
For several years, loafers are the cool flat that the style set is wearing, and they aren’t going anywhere. Except this season, you’ll start to see new shapes and styles. For example, this Veronica Beard version is in my own shopping bag after seeing one of my good friends wear it several days in a row. The white sole gives it a new, fresh look. Another option is boat shoe-inspired loafers — they’re starting to grow on me!

But first, I still like black shoes … sometimes

Black shoes can be really tricky, especially when it comes to styling them with dresses — sometimes they can look too severe. Check out this IG video I shared a while back. Lots of people commented, and now when I wear black shoes, people are quick to call me out 😂
So here’s the deal: black boots are a non-negotiable. But, as a stylist, I can confirm that with black shoes, often your eyes go straight to your feet! Yes yes, we all need a great black shoe (or two) in our wardrobes. So, if you do want to wear them, just choose a simple strappy sandal or a slingback. That said, I don’t think they’re super important … especially when boot season ends. Of course, as I always say, if you really love them, wear them!
