Four Denim Trends to Love in 2025!
Denim is always a hot topic here at So Susie, which is understandable since many stylish outfits revolve around this wardrobe staple. It’s the one item that needs to be right, since it’s the starting point of every great outfit you put together … no matter the occasion! I get many many questions about denim … daily actually. This includes everything from what are the season’s must-haves to what’s the right length to how do I cut and hem my own jeans — and the list goes on.
My love of denim goes waaaay back. In the early 2000s as a Nordstrom stylist, I worked in the denim department. This gave me firsthand knowledge about everything related to denim. These days, it’s still my favorite category of clothing to work with, and I try to stay very current when it comes to the latest styles. It’s one of the reasons I travel for “trend shopping.” On every LA trip, you’ll find me on Melrose Avenue popping into all my favorite stores to get the inside scoop on what’s new, what’s selling and what should be on my website!

#1 Gray Wash Denim

Gray jeans are an excellent option when you want to switch things up and branch out from the usual shades of blue. Gray is surprisingly versatile, and always looks elegant and sophisticated when paired with blacks and browns (and more neutral shades of gray). #2 Barrel-leg Jeans

If you’re looking for a jean that all the cool, stylish girls are wearing, this is it! It’s one of the more interesting denim trends to emerge because they can be a bit challenging to style. However, for a more elevated look, just combine them when with pointy toe shoes and blazers. If you’re looking for a toned down barrel-leg style, this one by Paige is a really good option that everyone loves. The best rule of thumb with this style of jean is to keep your outfit simple.
#3 Wide-leg Jeans

Wider leg jeans are continuing into 2025, and there are a few styles in particular that are really flattering, like these by Mother, Agolde and Frame. You can wear them now with your favorite boots, and later with sandals. Super versatile, modern and chic. While you can find some options in shorter lengths, I prefer longer lengths.
#4 Straight-leg Jeans

Straight leg jeans are the most versatile style you can own, since they can easily be dressed up or down. They also work with almost every style of shoe, all year long. This season, I prefer longer lengths, since they look more modern and they also elongate your legs.
Pro-tip for both wide-leg and straight-leg jeans: longer lengths feel more current and updated for 2025, and they tend to be more flattering. Try a longer length and see if you like the look!

Hands down, petite denim jeans are a total changer if you’re 5’4″ and under! I’ve pretty much tried them all (!!) and here are the ones I highly recommend:
Frame Denim – Le Pixie Arrow, Le Pixie Flare, and Le Pixie Le Slim Palazzo
Mother Denim – Lil Mother Hustler, Weekender, Insider, and Hustler Roller
