6 staples that will take you through the holidays!
When building your wardrobe, I recommend having a few holiday pieces on hand that will seamlessly take you through the next two months. After all, it’s hard to believe that it’s already November and the holidays are almost here! I love this time of year, when shops have decorations and holiday collections start to arrive in store. Everything just feels more festive 😊
Right now, I have my eye on beautiful holiday pieces, ones that have longevity and can be worn for seasons to come. For example, Nordstrom’s Halogen collection has many pretty options for holiday wear. Faves include this sequin dress, this sequin sweater and this sequin top. And, I always suggest finding items you love early in the season. This way, you’ll have a much longer wearing opportunity, and who doesn’t want that?
This week, my Nordstrom Stylist friends and I announced our November “N6 Drop.” The N6 Drop is a monthly drop of six of our favorite, best-selling items. We selected an embellished blouse and cardigan, a classic wrap coat, and of course, jeans you’ll wear on repeat. So, today’s post is about creating good, solid, everyday outfits for the holiday season, and the key staples that make it all come together. They’re super simple, very wearable, and I’m sure you’ll love them! Keep reading to see what they are and how to style them. Cheers! 🌟

Stylist recs: The 6 well-priced pieces you need now
#1 Wrap coats
Wrap coats are a wardrobe staple, and while traveling around London, it’s pretty clear that a wrap coat is everyone’s go-to! You’ll appreciate the versatility, and you’ll be able to wear them with everything in your closet, from denim to dresses and even sneakers. I love this J.Crew one below, and this new Aritzia one is on my list. If you’re up for a splurge, try this one. And, for a well-priced one that looks like a designer piece, try this Mango one. It runs big, so size down.

#2 Holiday blouses
Investing in a holiday blouse is a good idea because it instantly makes an outfit feel more festive. The Halogen one I’m wearing above with the pretty sparkle buttons is a deal at $89, and it’s part of the N6 Drop. If you like a little sparkle, look at this sequined one — these always sell out. For another affordable option, look at this gold one and this crystal shirt.

#3 Embellished cardigans
Feathers are everywhere right now, and they’re fun and kind of irreverent … perfect for the holidays 😉 How pretty is this beautiful green cardigan by Cinq a Sept? Try wearing it with trousers, coated denim or faded black denim. And check out this new beaded cardigan below — the grosgrain ribbon is a nice detail.

#4 Coated denim
I’ve been talking about coated denim a lot lately; it gives your outfits a level up this time of year (read this post for styling ideas). Also, I just purchased these Frame skinnies (I know!!) and have been wearing them in London with oversized jackets and coats. I like this longer version we chose for the N6 Drop, and this crop style is also a personal favorite. See more options below.
#5 Festive party bags
We all love a fun party bag, and I’ve noticed that over the years, the selection keeps getting better and better. This year, I spotted several I like at J.Crew, and the prices are so good! I recommend the Loeffler Randall ones as well, and the prices aren’t too bad. See below for some other festive options, you might be surprised how often you pull one out!
#6 Party Heels
Festive shoes are perfect for the holidays, and you’ll need them year after year. Also, they can be worn well into the new year for any fun events you might have coming up. These boots are part of the N6 Drop, and look at these new sandals I just spotted at J.Crew. Find a pair you love, you’ll wear them more often than you think!
