All new capsule: Rag & Bone blazer | Citizens of Humanity Isola jeans | Naghedi tote | L’Agence sandals | Mother graphic t-shirt
Your pre-fall capsule is here: all new!
I absolutely love creating capsule wardrobes, and having endless outfit combinations is helpful for all of us! A solid wardrobe foundation makes getting dressed easy and effortless. Your wardrobe should be comprised of elevated, versatile, well-fitting pieces. When these pieces are combined, they make stylish outfits for all your upcoming events! This month, I was inspired by touches of red and camel combined with faded blue and white. These colors always read timeless and sophisticated. I also love to add a touch of gold, which adds a little interest to many different outfits.
One of my favorite things to do is find brand new pieces that make stylish outfits. For many years, this was my work in “Room 3” at Nordstrom, and it was truly a dream job. But things changed … this little blog took off, and I was able to give “dressing room experiences” online to many people across the country. I’m still counting my blessings, since making outfits is my happy place 🤍
Today’s post features the all new pre-fall capsule wardrobe I’ve created for you. I believe in carefully and thoughtfully purchasing pieces that can be worn many different ways. So, many of these items are proven, meaning they’re best sellers, fit well and are worth every penny. Keep this post for reference … you’ll use it for the rest of the year!
Susie’s all new pre-fall capsule wardrobe
It’s always hard to narrow this down, but, the pieces below are ones you’ll wear over and over again. In order to create an amazing wardrobe, you have to start with the basics. Once you have the basics covered, the best way to keep things fresh and updated is by adding new, colorful accessories every now and then! Below are the pieces I love as we head into the fall season.

Shorter trench coats are trending, and this one is a fave! Size down, it runs roomy. I went with an XXS for reference.

This luster crepe blazer is gorgeous — even Olympia, the J.Crew creative director is wearing it!

Faux leather blazers are the perfect way to make your outfits look expensive!

Shorter jackets are trending this season, and they look great with wide leg denim or longer skirts

The Rag & Bone Slade blazer is one of my favorites! It’s versatile, comfortable and a piece you’ll wear all season long
Poncho & sweater blazer outfits

A poncho and sweater blazer are two of the most important pieces to add for fall. Super stylish and very versatile
Denim moto jacket

This brand new denim Moto jacket is so cool, and the outfit possibilities are endless
All-important jackets
One of the main pieces in every great wardrobe
Luster crepe blazer | Denim jacket | J.Crew trench | Camel blazer | Red tweed jacket | Sweater cardigan | Faux leather blazer
These stylish jackets will get you through most any social situation. For example, a relaxed blazer looks amazing with denim and with many other things — look at this luster crepe one from J.Crew. Faux leather is about to be everywhere this season, and how cool is this new one I found?
Of course, you can never have too many denim jackets! Check out this brand new moto style from Veronica Beard. I also included a shorter trench coat since this is the newest style that’s trending. Tweed jackets are also popular, and I love this new red one. And, I always recommend sweater jackets, and J.Crew makes the best ones!
All new layering pieces
You only need a few, but you’ll wear them on repeat
Frame blouse | Anine Bing hoodie | Pearl trim shirt | Print blouse | Camel tank | Camel poncho | Striped lady jacket | Graphic tee
A few good layering pieces will cover you for all occasions. For example, stripes are really popular right now. I love this new silk blouse by Frame, this pearl embellished button front, and this lady cardigan by J.Crew. All super versatile and stylish. A printed silk blouse is always a fun piece to add, and this new one is very pretty. For more casual options, try Anine Bing hoodies, they’re just so cool, and so is this graphic tee. For a little more sophisticated of an option, look at this brand new poncho by Vince.
Well-fitting bottoms
The starting point of every outfit
Luster crepe trouser | Denim skirt | Pleated skirt | Mother denim | Grey denim | Black flare jean | Strapless dress | Camel slip dress
Ideally, owning three pairs of jeans or pants (white or écru, faded denim and black) will cover you in the wardrobe department. Consider this ivory trouser for a non-jean option, I love it with the matching cami. Skirts are also trending this season, like this denim midi one and this pleated version from J.Crew. Wide leg jeans are popular as well, and these are a style everyone is loving. I just picked up these gray wash jeans, and they’re quite versatile. Since everyone is looking for the perfect dress, this Norma Kamali black one is back in stock. And, same with this slip dress — it’s a good one!
Stylish accessories are a must in your all new capsule wardrobe
The key to completing your outfits
Bucket bag | Celine sunglasses | Gold clutch | Bracelet | Red Gucci bag | Valentino scarf | Earrings | Baseball hat | Naghedi tote
Fun, stylish accessories elevate all your outfits, and I recommend investing in the best bag you can. This Naghedi one is a personal favorite, and I wear mine year ’round. Another casual option is this MZ Wallace bucket bag — it’s perfect for travel, and there are many color options. For something a little dressier, this gold clutch and this red Gucci bag are both beautiful! These are the pieces that truly work magic for every outfit.
Another way to take your outfits to the next level is to own a couple of pieces of statement jewelry. For example, every cool girl is wearing these new earrings right now, and they’re Bottega-inspired. And, sunglasses always add a glam touch — a pair (like these) that you feel really good in works wonders!
Shoes, shoes, shoes
Not much to say, except who doesn’t love new shoes?
Larroude loafer | Rag & Bone sneaker | Larroude sandal | Slingback | Camel boot | Black sandal
Sneakers are usually one of my first suggestions since they go with everything — especially now. I love this new retro looking one by Rag & Bone. Also, a great black sandal like this one is versatile, and so is this one with the clear straps — it goes with everything. Since we’re heading towards fall, I added this neutral boot and these slingback, Chanel-inspired shoes. You can’t go wrong with any of these options!
