Your February 2023 Capsule Wardrobe: All new!
I love to create capsule wardrobes, and having endless outfit combinations is helpful for all of us — including me! A solid wardrobe foundation makes getting dressed easy and effortless, and also helps you be prepared for any occasion. This is why Iāll be sharing monthly recommendations on how to build NEW capsule wardrobes every 4-6 weeks. This wardrobe should be comprised of sophisticated, elevated, versatile pieces. When these pieces are combined, they make stylish outfits for all your upcoming events!
What I learned in “Room 3”
One of my favorite things to do is find brand new pieces that make the coolest outfits! For many years, this was my work in āRoom 3ā at Nordstrom, and it was truly a dream job. But things changed ā¦ this little blog started taking off, and somehow I was able to give ādressing room experiencesā online to many people across the country. Iām still counting my blessings, since making outfits is my happy place āŗļø

Susie’s February Capsule Wardrobe
Trust me, it’s always hard to narrow this down. But, the pieces below are ones Iāve talked about over and over again ā in addition to a few new ones. In order to create an amazing wardrobe, you have to start with the basics. Once you have the basics covered, the best way to keep things fresh and updated is by adding new, cool and maybe even colorful accessories every now and then! One of the main items of every great wardrobe

These stylish jackets will get you through most any social situation. For example, a black blazer looks amazing with denim, and the dickey options are so cool. The faux leather shirt jacket is super cute, and I love the longer Mango coatigan. For more casual jackets, this faux leather vest is a good one and layers over lots of different things. Finally, the J.Crew Juliette cardigan is one of the most worn things in my closet — everyone should try one! For reference it runs really big, so size down.

A few good layering pieces will cover you for all occasions. For example, I love a striped top, and this sweater is a good one. An oversized poplin shirt is a year-round staple, and this best-selling one is available in several colors (make sure to get the superfine cotton one). Everyone should have a pretty blouse or two in their wardrobe, and this one is pretty. A simple black sweater is another good basic to have in your closet — you might like this Rails one with an eyelet sleeve detail.

Ideally, owning three pairs of jeans (white or Ć©cru, faded denim and black) will cover you in the wardrobe department. I adore this faded Mother style, and I’ve been wearing mine nonstop. The Vuori jogger is the perfect weekend option, and another best-seller you’ll wear all the time. For dresses, this blue Veronica Beard one is beautiful and a perfect way to liven up your wardrobe. You can’t go wrong with a slip dress like this one or even a simple black slip skirt — so useful for many different occasions.

Fun, stylish accessories elevate all your outfits, and I recommend investing in the best bag you can. For example, the Chloe tote bagĀ has been one of my best purchases. Baseball hats work all year around, and I love this new pink GanniĀ one.Ā And, sunglasses always add a glamorous touch — a pair (like these) you feel really good in works wonders!

Sneakers go with everything, so theyāre usually one of my first suggestions. A great black sandal like this one is versatile, and the pointy toe detail is cool-looking. For a more casual heel, the Vince Pia wedge is a favorite and very comfortable. Recently, I picked up this raffia slingback and quite versatile. And finally, a black boot like this cool Toteme one elevates all your outfits!
