What’s new in denim? The wash to add now.
I love it when I find a reason to purchase a new pair of jeans, especially given that denim is our go-to for most days of the week. And when there’s something new that easily works into our collection, usually I think it’s a worthy investment. For the past year, I set aside my beloved black jeans, and went all-in wearing the lighter, lived-in California blue style. While I still absolutely love them, I sure miss my black!
Then last month, I spotted a new wash: not black, not grey — more like a charcoal. And since I purchased this Mother brand flare leg in the charcoal wash, I’ve been watching it show up on all my favorite brands! Which is very exciting 🙂 Why? Because it’s the *perfect* substitute for black. It does the same job as black, but it looks a little more fresh and modern as we head into Fall 19.
Keep reading for my favorite picks – I can personally attest because I’ve tried them on and I’m sure you’ll love them!
Charcoal wash denim
These skinnies by Madewell look black but trust me, they’re a dark charcoal grey (see the photo above). Since I’m only 5’1, I did a quick DIY hem with a dull pair of scissors!! These Mother brand flares are favorites and very leg lengthening (I wrote about them here). The Levi’s below are the exact same fit I’ve written about all spring (see here and here). Find a pair you love and I promise you will wear them throughout the fall and winter!
