Believe it or not, the cowboy boot is back and is one of the key boot trends to buy now.  Seen on the runway shows at Fendi, Isabel Marant and a handful of others, now it’s trickling down to Topshop and Zara, which means you can find just the style you are looking for at all price points.  I always suggest to friends and clients to purchase in September.  Why?  In order to get maximum wearing time, you want to buy early in the season.  This year there are so many styles I’m loving, but the cowboy/western trend is going to be the first one I pursue.

Lets clarify…. the cowboy trend doesn’t mean you have to look like you’ve stepped out of a western movie.  According to Vogue.com, “it’s less rodeo, and more rodeo drive!”  Somehow the time feels right for this update.  It’s the perfect addition to my every day-mom-running around look, but I intend to pair my boots with a blazer and dark denim to wear to work.  I’ll also see if I can pull it off with my favorite Veronica beard dress.

There are many, many styles out there: both boots and booties, with varying degrees of a western feel.  Some have a little edge, like these, and some have just a hint of the trend, like these.  I plan to purchase a pair that will fit easily with my favorite dresses as well as my denim. I’m seriously eyeing this pair by Vince, these snakeskin Chloe ones, and this Rag and Bone version.  Which ones will you be buying?
