I love the fashion industry so much, and have pretty much spent a lifetime fascinated by the business of fashion. From my days as a Nordstrom buyer to helping my friends & clients in the dressing room – and now this! I get to help all of you (and myself) get dressed and look and feel our absolute best. It’s all about finding those special pieces you absolutely love – the ones that make your outfits feel modern and cool. Of course, this is after all of your foundational pieces are covered: great jeans, stylish jackets, elevated knitwear, and so on.

Most of them start on the runway and filter down to the high street, so whether you want to go all in or just try something new, there are plenty of options. #1 Leopard print

One could argue that leopard print is always in style, and talk about a pattern that is so easy to wear. My suggestion, is to find a shoe, or a bag, or even a statement jacket or skirt. These are the easiest pieces to weave into your closet.
#2 Statement belts

Cool statement belts have been making their way back after many years of taking a back seat. Thanks to Celine and Dior for showing larger buckles on the runway, now everyone is doing a version. Whether you want a logo (I love this Dior one) or something a little more understated, I suggest finding one in black or brown with a gold or silver buckle. Look at this Madewell one or this one by Rag & Bone.
#3 Cobalt blue

Bright colors are back and cobalt blue is what’s on everyone’s radar right now. It’s the perfect little pop of color to add a little excitement to a neutral wardrobe – and it works with so many colors. J.Crew has some great options, love this new sweater and this gorgeous coat.
#4 Cap-toe shoes

Chanel always has a cap-toe slingback or shoe on their line up, but this season, every other brand is doing a version too. For something affordable look at this and this, and for a splurge, I love this Valentino one.
#5 Bandana print

These scarves give a little western nod and look so chic layered over sweaters and jackets. The French brand Kujten has a smaller scarf (like the bottom right) and I just found this really good dupe at Nordstrom. Super soft and stretchy, I have both sizes and love. For affordable options – there’s a lot, look at Tuckernuck and Madewell, and I also own and love this one.
#6 Cropped denim

Finally, slimmer ankle jeans that are so perfect for flats! And if you’re under 5’4″ like me, then you know how flattering these jeans are. This trend is back, and it won’t be going away any time soon.
#7 Fringe sweaters

A wrap or cardigan or anything with fringe is so chic this season, and I absolutely love this Simkhai one, that’s available in lots of colors here. Of course you can’t go wrong with a wrap and this Vince one is an easy option. I also spotted this cool vest by Favorite Daughter – all so chic.
#8 Snake Print

Snake print is surprisingly versatile and it works all year long! Add just a touch with a cool bag or shoe – it will elevate every single outfit. My daughter and I are both obsessed with this clutch you can wear with 4 different straps.
#9 Pencil skirts

Pencil skirts are finally getting the recognition they deserve! Sleek, flattering and surprisingly easy to wear. Pair one with a classic button-up or a long sleeve sweater for a look that’s polished and chic. See two of my favorites from Nordstrom here and here, or this Zara one for under $50.
#10 Zebra print

There’s lots of animal print right now, and zebra is having a moment! I keep seeing this print paired with bold colors like red or purple all over my Instagram. Try a cool coat or a shoe, either piece will make a big statement.
