These 7 Fall Sweaters Are Worth It — Trust Me!

Much to everyone’s delight, it’s almost sweater season! This week I’m in NYC, and for the first time in months, there’s a hint of fall in the air. Evening temps are calling for lightweight sweaters — and it’s so exciting 😌 Our first stop here was the Tuckernuck store that just opened on the Upper East Side, and it looked amazing. After a few try-ons, we walked out with several pieces, including this wrap sweater and this floral zip travel wallet. (See more of what we found here.) As we continued to shop, super stylish knits were everywhere, so I decided to share them with all of you below.

Today’s post is all about 7 fall sweaters that are worth buying now. These sweaters are ones I’d tell my friends to grab quickly, before they’re gone. Trust me, you’ll wear them on repeat all season long. Keep reading to see my fall sweater edit below, as well as outfit options that will keep you feeling cozy and chic as you move into the fall season. Cheers!

The Fall Dress Edit: 7 Effortless Styles for Every Occasion

Stylist-Approved Picks: These Finds Just Caught My Attention!

Susie’s Top 5 Sweaters

Left: Rails cardigan | Middle: Black hoodie | Right: Lilysilk stripe turtleneck

Quince cardigan – This structured cardigan is based off this Jenni Kayne one, but for a fraction of the price. The quality is incredible, and the bell sleeve detail adds an extra stylish touch. (For reference, I’m wearing an XS.) Other Quince sweaters I recommend include this $50 cashmere crew, this short sleeved one, and this cotton button front cardigan. I wear these all the time!

Vince boiled wool sweater – It took me a couple of years to finally splurge on this sweater, but I finally did — and I can’t tell you how much I wore it. It’s expensive, but it’s a sweater you’ll love for years to come

Frame Fairisle cardigan – I recently received this navy cardigan, and it quickly became a new fave. The gold buttons add a feminine detail, and it’s lighter weight, which makes it ideal for layering over a classic button up shirt

Lilysilk stripe turtleneck sweater – Bought this striped sweater a couple of years ago, and after discovering a hole, I bought a second one. It’s a simple sweater you’ll always feel good in. I can’t wait to bring mine back out again this year

Cashmere hoodie – Wore this super soft hoodie layered under this trench coat for my airplane outfit. It was super cozy and comfy, and it’s a great layering piece. Also love this one by Naadam

#1 Countryside Style

Frame cardigan | White button-up | Jeans | Boots | Gucci bag | Earrings | Celine sunnies

Classic sweaters like those by Fair Isle, cable knits, and argyle patterns are key to getting the countryside style look. This trending style is reminiscent of an English retreat in the Cotswolds 😉 Love this Frame cardigan as well as this short sleeved version in pink.

#2 The Sweater Hoodie That Sells Out Every Time

A cozy sweater hoodie is an essential piece that I recommend to everyone. They never seem to stay in stock, which is why this new one is worth grabbing now. The soft gray color is really versatile, and you’ll layer it under every cool jacket you own, from a wrap style to a puffer to a blazer. You will love this one!

#3 Draped Sweaters/Ponchos

Zara poncho | Coated denim jeans | Slingbacks | Prada bag | Gold earrings | Gold cuff

This might be one of my favorite sweater trends! Draped sweaters, ponchos and capes look cool and elegant, and are very very stylish. Zara has some great options like the one above, and this one from COS won’t last long. I recommend adding one or two to your wardrobe this season.

#4 Vince Sweaters are Wardrobe Classics

Vince sweaters are always a favorite, and they are pieces you’ll have for years. They’re high quality, and the styles are classic … but with a little extra! I absolutely love this funnel neck one — it’s stylish and classy. You can wear it with trousers, over dresses, and of course, with your best denim.

#5 The Button-Front Cardigan Edit

Everlane cardigan | White tee | Jeans | Gucci mules | Suede bag | Earrings

Much like the classic barn jacket, this wardrobe staple is back! But, this time around, it looks even more sophisticated than before. Try wearing it tucked into looser trousers with a belt, or leave it open with a simple white tee underneath. Better yet, combine it with a skirt. The $80 Quince sweater is amazing, and this Reformation one is a classic. See below for more faves.

#6 Leopard Sweaters

This season, leopard print is everywhere (it never really goes out of style). Talk about another classic piece that you’ll wear for years to come! Here are a few that have caught my eye lately.

#7 French-inspired Striped Sweaters

Oak & Fort trench | Striped sweater | Jeans, more sizes here | Gucci bag | Boots

French-inspired striped sweaters are a true classic, and they add a little interest to every outfit! This one by Lilysilk is an all-time favorite, and so is this one with bell sleeves from Barbour. Take a look at this COS one as well. Below are a few others that caught my eye.
