Do you have the right lingerie for all your summer outfits?

7 intimates everyone should own

We all know that owning the right undergarments is very important when it comes to getting dressed. Once the warm weather arrives, it’s even trickier. How often have you fallen in love with a dress, only to find out you don’t have the right bra or shapewear to wear under it? After working with women in the dressing room for over two decades, I’ve found a handful of lingerie basics that everyone should know about. As always, I’m excited to share them with you … they’re that good!

During the early days of the pandemic, an email arrived in my inbox from Wacoal. At the time I hadn’t worked with many brands, and while I loved Wacoal, I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting myself into šŸ˜Œ It ended up being an amazing partnership, and I’ve learned so much along the way, thanks to Miryha (their lead designer) — she is just a lovely person and incredibly knowledgeable. Last summer, I had the opportunity to visit the factory in the Dominican Republic. I watched in amazement as the talented seamstresses put together the Red Carpet Strapless Bra from start to finish. Talk about impressive!

Wacoal and other brands, such as Spanx, Chantelle and Natori, have really set a high bar for lingerie. After all, the right undergarments ensure that the clothes you’re wearing look amazing. Keep reading to see the 7 intimates everyone should own. This is not a sponsored post, I just wanted to share my experience and hope you find these recommendations helpful!

P.S. Yesterday I shared this Reels video, demonstrating some of these items. From the must-have strapless bra to the smoothing short everyone loves, check it all out here! For shopping details click here to my Shop LTK page.

The right essentials

Red Carpet Strapless Bra | Body Base smoothing short | Spanx Thigh Shaper | Natori Bliss thongs | Nippies | Spanx Lace panties | Wacoal Softly Styled Bra

First, let’s talk about panties

3 styles everyone loves

#1 – Spanx Undie-tectable Lace panties These are an all-time favorite, and a great option if you don’t love thongs! Not only are they really pretty, they have a little tummy smoothing, and they have elastic-free edges and a bonded waistband to make them invisible under clothes. Stock up, these are good! Use codee SUSIEXSPANX for 10% off your order!

#2 – Chantelle soft stretch panties – This is a favorite panty if you ask anyone working in the lingerie department. The soft-stretch really is soft, and it comes in several different styles. I prefer these not-sexy ones, and wear these under dresses when I just want to be comfortable. I’ve also tried the thong and this style — love them all. Side note: they come in regular and plus sizes, and both are one size.

#3 – Natori Bliss thongs Hands down, Natori Bliss thongs are the best. They come in pretty colors, and I find that they fit perfectly under denim. This time of year, I prefer the lighter-colored ones under white denim.

Bras that work in every situation

#4 – Wacoal strapless bras Red Carpet & Halo lace styles are both favorites. If I had to pick one, it would be the Red Carpet because it works for almost every kind of dress. Not only is it a best-seller, but all my stylist friends love it too. The Halo lace is super comfortable, but better for casual summer days, since it doesn’t have as much support due to the lace cup.

#5 – Nippies These work magic! When I was grilling my friend Danielle on how she could wear them under a silk cami, she lifted her shirt up to show me. Sold! Of course, then I tried them too šŸ˜‚ The trick is to first position them a little lower, then pull your skin up and stick them on so you’re lifted.

#6 – Convertible Bras – A bra with straps you can criss cross is key, and the Wacoal Soft Sense style is a favorite. I shared it yesterday in this video.

Smoothing Shapewear

#7 – Smoothing Shorts The Wacoal Body Base are the perfect smoothing shorts to wear under summer dresses. They kind of hold you in and smooth things out. They’re lightweight, AND leave no visible panty lines! If your dress gets caught in the wind, you’ll feel more covered! If you have a dress that needs even more shaping, see my favorite one below.

Extras that are worth mentioning

These work any time of year

The most comfortable, everyday bra Hands down, the Wacoal Softly Styled bra is my personal favorite — and Miryha’s too. It’s comfy, supportive and perfect all year around.

Spanx shape wear – I can’t live without this thigh shaper by Spanx. When I need more shaping, this is my go to — and it works magic every single time! I alternate between the higher waist one, or the regular short style.Ā

Weezie X Gracie summer robe A friend sent me this robe as a gift, and I absolutely love it! First off, the bracelet sleeve length is clever (no more sleeves getting in the way), and since I’m in love with Gracie wallpaper, it couldn’t be more perfect. It’s a limited edition, so don’t wait šŸ™‚
