Most White Jeans Don’t Make the Cut — But These Do!
The May Style Edit: What Everyone’s Wearing Now
#1 Denim Shirt & Soft White Jeans
Frame denim shirt | Paige Anessa jeans | Veronica Beard sandals
This my go-to outfit this week (I’ve worn this shirt a couple of times). The sleeve detail and the light wash color are what makes it feel summery. I’ve spotted a few others like it, including this lightweight button front and this one with a ruffle collar.
#2 Colorful, Easy Dresses
Simkhai dress | Gold sandals | Raffia bag
A dress is one of the easiest things to wear, and right now the options are endless! Bright, pretty prints are ideal this time of year, and some favorite brands include Avara (this and this), Farm Rio (this and this), and Cara Cara (look at this one).
#3 Elegant Black for Evening
Simkhai blouse | Theory pants | Gold sandals | Leopard clutch
When I don’t know what to wear, I always default to all-black. It’s elegant, and works any time of year — including summer. I recently received these Theory pants, and they’re flattering, and leg lengthening too. Change up the look with your accessories: for summer; try strappy sandals and a bag you love.
#4 Shorts & Tank Tops
Vince stripe tank | Green shorts | Flip flops | Cashmere sweater over shoulders
I never wear shorts, but my Nordstrom stylist friend dropped off a pair in my dressing room, and I was pleasantly surprised! Relaxed and loose, they’re actually flattering and I ended up buying them. She mentioned that everyone else she showed them to that day went home with them as well.
#5 Linen Dresses
Quince linen dress | Sandals | Sweater | Wimbleon pouch
Linen anything is perfect for summer, and imo, Quince does it best. The quality is amazing, and most of the prices are under $100. I’ve tried every one of these dresses, and they’re an easy go-to all summer long.
#6 The Pant That Updates Everything
Brown top | Lodge pant | Sandals | Bucket bag
If you want a pant update, a looser drawstring style is the way to go. They’re super stylish and versatile — the perfect replacement to leggings. Everyone is making a version, but my personal favorite is the Lodge pant from Aritzia, and the Crepette I’m wearing above is the one I keep reaching for. Also ordered this linen version and the satin as well, and they don’t disappoint. One more note: they come in short, regular and tall.
#7 Summer Denim
Cinq a Sept shirt | Mother Hustler jeans | Red Savette bag
Light faded denim is perfect for summer, and below are some favorites, including the new Lemon Twist
#8 Varley
Varley dress | Flip flops | Bucket bag
Varley is a favorite brand, especially their matching sets and casual dresses which are ideal for summer!
#9 Staud Dresses
Stripe cotton dress | Sandals | Raffia clutch
On a trip to Palm Beach, I visited the Staud store, and it was the busiest store in the outdoor mall! The hot dress that everyone was wearing or trying on was this midi length style. Right now, everyone is loving the brand (look at this and this), and Nordstrom has a great selection. See below for some favorites.
#10 Swimsuit + Coverup
Tuckernuck dress/coverup | Pink swimsuit + Amazon version here | Sandals | Loewe tote
It’s that time of year when many of us need a swimsuit/cover up, and my highest recommendation is white for both. Not only does it look super chic, but you’ll get lots of wear out of both pieces. Take a look at this one-piece swimsuit, it’s super comfortable and works with every style of coverup. Speaking of coverups, check out the pretty one I’m wearing above — perfect for going from the pool to relax with a drink.
#11 Anything from Tuckernuck
Tuckernuck polo dress | Beaded Amazon sandals
I look at the Tuckernuck website every single day, and they have some of the best pieces — everything from dresses to skirts to soft, buttery cashmere sweaters, and so much more. Check out their website here.
#12 Summer Pajamas
We all love to get new pjs, and there’s always a good excuse to pick up another pair! Just last week, I purchased this pretty floral robe at Nordstrom. If you want to feel a little extra, try the washable silk pjs I’m wearing above. They’re comfy, and the side slit in the pants makes them on-trend 😉
