What To Wear On Vacation? Here are 10 Easy Outfit Ideas!
Don’t you just love this time of year? The days are getting longer, the weather is so pretty, and, it’s vacation season! Many of us have fun plans coming up, so I thought I’d share some outfits ideas for your trips. Right now, stores are packed with great summer staples that you’ll wear all season long. Whether you’re going away for a long weekend, or lucky enough to be heading to Europe or some other exciting, faraway place, these outfits will have you covered!
This coming weekend, I’m heading to my cute little hometown of McMinnville to see my mom. It’s perfect timing since the weather suddenly turned to summer here in the Pacific Northwest. It’s going to be 85 and sunny, which is ideal for trying out some new outfits. My three kids are coming along, and we’re staying at the lovely Tributary Hotel, which is right on Main Street. It’s fancy, but it’s not often I get the three of them together, so I thought I’d splurge! Stay tuned to my IG stories for a peek inside the hotel 😊

This dress is so summery, and it has pockets! That makes life a little easier sometimes 😉 For other options, look at this pretty block print midi style, this new dress from Rails and this one. All so good, and perfect for warmer days ahead.
#2 Wide leg denim + Casual tops

The Paige Anessa jean is a favorite and a best seller. It’s available in long lengths (meaning not cropped), and in this new light wash which is perfect for summer. So is this soft white color. If you like a cropped jean, look at this and this. You can make easy summer and vacation outfits with any of these options.
The t-shirt i’m wearing is a little dressier because of the gold button detail and soft shoulder pads. It’s available in black as well. Also like this ruffle sleeved one, and check out this one too.
#3 Denim shorts + Tank tops
If you’re looking for denim shorts, the AGOLDE Parkers are hands down the best! Everyone loves them — they’re super comfortable, and you’ll reach for them often. You might want to consider both the light wash and this washed black one. One of my easy summer outfit ideas is to pair these shorts with either these sneakers, or these simple Birkenstocks. Michael Stars makes the best knit dresses, and they always sell out! Don’t wait on this this one — the color is super pretty, and the ruching makes it quite flattering. (I’m wearing this smoothing short under it.) For other options, look at this longer tank style, and this cute one by Varley.
#5 Tenniscore outfits

The tennis trend is still going strong, and there are several good tennis skirt and dress options. Remember, you don’t need to play a racket sport in order to wear these looks! I usually wear them on warmer days to the grocery store, on coffee dates, and even to run errands. Check out this Varley dress, and the skirt I’m wearing above also comes in black.
#6 Denim skirt outfits

Denim skirts are a wardrobe staple and there are many versions to love! You can easily make several outfits with one denim skirt. If you like a longer midi style, check this one out. For a knee length skirt, look at the one I’m wearing in the above photo — it’s very well priced. (You might like this one too.) And, if you prefer to go shorter, this one caught my eye.

This is a classic summer outfit! Pro-tip: Find a pretty top you love, like this striped one or this one, then just add white jeans. Oh, and make sure you have a neutral shoe like this. Super simple.
#8 Shorter casual dresses

I usually don’t go for rompers, but this one was hard to pass up. For starters, it’s longer than most, which makes it more flattering. I also love the color, and how easily it goes with these sneakers or these sandals. See a few other options here and here.
#9 Casual jackets are a must for every summer wardrobe
Even if you live in warm, humid weather, I suggest owning a jacket or two. Earlier this year, I took a trip to Puerto Rico. And though it was crazy hot outside, everyone had their air conditioning cranked and it was freezing inside! I really needed a jacket, so if this happens to you, you will too 😉 Consider this bomber jacket or this utility style. See more ideas below!
#10 Everyone needs a few sandals and sneakers
I always look for simple, easy to wear sandals and sneakers that work with several different outfits. This is why, for the first time ever, I came home with Birkenstocks in this neutral color! Also, take a look at these Dolce Vita sandals, and these too. For sneakers, check out these new P448s, they kind of remind me of cool Sambas. I also spotted these New Balance ones which I’m seeing all over insta. I’ll give them a try and let you know my thoughts 🙂
