12 wardrobe staples you’ll wear this winter!

Most of us have too many clothes, me included, and trust me, it makes getting dressed that much harder! Since winter is just about here, I decided to edit my closet down to the warm weather basics I’ll be wearing throughout the season. First, I scooted aside those items I won’t be wearing for a while in an attempt to streamline my closet. It feels really good to do this, and putting outfits together becomes a little easier. Then, I started thinking about the staples we’ll be wearing all winter long, and decided to write this post 😊

Today’s post is a carefully edited list of wardrobe staples I think make the best outfits. Everything here is from Evereve, which is one of my favorite stores in Portland. They carry all my favorite brands, and every time I visit the store, it looks completely new! And, that right there is the essence of really great retail. After all, who doesn’t love to see brand new things when you actually make it in to the store?

12 winter wardrobe staples from Evereve

1 – Paige Claudine jeans – These best-selling jeans look really good on just about everyone! They’re a high rise ankle flare jean, and they’re available in a washed black or a medium blue wash. And, since they have a raw hem, it makes shortening them super easy. If you want to DIY it, make sure you use super sharp scissors. These are my faves — trust me, they’re  incredible!

2 – Rails Odyssey jacket – I love this coat, and the contrast stitching is reminiscent of a much more expensive designer jacket. It’s super cozy, and you can layer a cashmere sweater or a hoodie under it. It looks perfect with the Paige jeans above in Black Lotus and these boots.

3 – Evereve cashmere sweaters – A lightweight cashmere sweater is the PERFECT addition to your wardrobe. It’s timeless, and goes with pretty much everything! So, try this pink one paired with the Faux leather skirt below. It’s a great substitution for a blouse, and might be a little warmer 😉

4 – Good American faux leather skirt – Skirts are trending, and this black one is very flattering and super soft. I tried it on with the sweater above, along with this printed blouse. Both looked amazing, and they give two completely different looks. This is a top pick 🙂

5 – Black boots – This season, I think we need a couple of black boot options. First, a knee boot like this one is versatile, and you’ll wear it with long or short dresses all season long. For a shorter boot, consider this pointy toe version. And, if you prefer something more casual, look at this one.

6 – Pretty blouses – If you ‘d like to wear a pretty blouse with your favorite denim out on a Friday night, look at this Sanctuary metallic blouse. It goes the Paige washed black denim, or with the Good American Faux Leather Skirt. For another option, check this one out.

7 – BlankNYC faux fur jacket – I’m often asked for options to wear with dresses when it’s cold. A faux fur is perfect, and it looks more stylish than a wrap. This one is $98, and it’s perfect with denim, or the faux leather skirt as well.

8 – Black dress – Everyone should own a LBD! For a more casual option, look at this knit Michael Stars one — the side tie is a nice detail. If you’re tall, look at this silk one, it’s so pretty. And if you happen to live in warmer weather, I really love this Rails cotton one — it’s great for vacation as well!

9 – Pretty party dresses – This time of year, it’s important have a dress or two you absolutely love and can grab and go 😉

10 – Sneakers – Evereve has some of the best styles to choose from, including New Balance sneakers, which are SO hard to find. When you see your size, grab it, or it’ll be gone in an instant!

11 – Barefoot Dreams – Talk about cozy, Barefoot Dreams is perfect for gifting as well as treating yourself! Check out this robe, these socks, and these cozy pants. Light your favorite candle and apply a face mask. It’s a relaxing way to spend a night at home.

12 –Varley for cool weekend casual – I love the UK brand Varley, and so do many of you. This is another brand that sells out quickly! I like this Freya top I’m wearing below, and be sure and check out this cozy sherpa and sweater before they sell out. It’s all so good!

UK-based brand Varley has some new faves you’ll love! A couple of weeks ago, I visited their first global flagship store in London’s  Chelsea neighborhood. The store is really beautiful, and I also learned a little more about the brand after a breakfast meeting with the Varley team. These pieces go quickly, so if you see something you love, grab it now! The Freya top I’m wearing above is comfy and perfect for lounging around your house.
