These shoes are all over London, Paris and New York🌟
You need these shoes right now!
A few months ago, I spent a sunny day in London shopping with my daughter Em and doing some “blog research.” We squeezed in a visit to my favorite department store, Selfridges. It was bustling as we wandered through the main floor, which was packed with gorgeous handbags and perfectly merchandised displays. As we headed upstairs, I noticed one department that was buzzing with excitement: shoes!! The sneaker shop in the shoe gallery was crazy busy, with men and women of all ages trying on everything in sight. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when I was back in London and in France, and I’m happy to report that the sneaker trend is still going strong! Everyone is wearing sneakers. My sources in New York say it’s the same there, no surprise.
SO … WHICH ARE THE HOTTEST BRANDS?
New Balance, Adidas, Nike, Veja and Alexander McQueen. Interestingly, the Golden Goose shop in Selfridges, which was next door from all the excitement, was completely dead. Not one single person was there, except the bored salesperson. I’m not ditching my GGs any time soon, but I did make a mental note 🤔 My family and I ate at an “insta-famous” restaurant, and I noticed a group of really stylish women wearing polished blazers with denim … and Alexander McQueen sneakers. So, no matter how dressed up or down you are, sneakers are the shoe of the moment.
So, today’s post is about all the cool sneakers worth adding to your collection. I don’t usually say this, but I kind of think we can all have several pairs in our closets. And they don’t have to be expensive; there are many reasonably priced options, and lots of different styles — everything from classic white to retro to designer favorites. Keep reading below to see the sneakers everyone is wearing, and of course, how to style them. The options are endless!

French girl sustainable chic
Many people are sporting Vejas these days — both men and women. This French brand is affordable, and it’s also sustainable. In fact, every chic French girl wears them. I brought my V-10’s to Europe, and many times, they were my sneaker of choice. Other styles you might like include the Rio Branco, as well as the ones below. Don’t wait on these, because the fun color (like this green) go quickly!

New Balance and Nike faves
The New Balance table was where all the action was in Selfridges. Talk about the hottest brand right now, they are THE shoe to own (love this and this)! They can be a little hard to find, so grab one when you see it. Nike was a close second, and Em was surprised at the variety in the Dunks section. I tried these on (they were out of my size), and Em really liked these. Both are by Nike.

Designer sneakers and their affordable sisters
I do love a good designer sneaker, and between Alexander McQueens, ones by Prada, and this newest Chloe, you can’t go wrong! If you prefer an affordable version, Dolce Vita has the Chloe version here, and their Zina sneaker looks like a Golden Goose. Sam Edelman also has a few, and Steve Madden has this Alexander McQueen copy.

Classic white sneakers
It’s always a good idea to have a pair of simple, clean white sneakers in your closet. They work with everything and add a cool touch to your outfits. I have my eye on these by the hot brand On. If you’re looking for an affordable sneaker, this Sam Edelman is always a top seller.

The hottest retro styles
Old school sneakers are always in style, and I love this newer pair by Rag and Bone that is very reminiscent of the GG Ball Star sneaker. Check out some other fun options below!

Susie’s sneaker faves
Personally, I love my Veja’s and my Rag & Bone sneakers. I can attest they’re both stylish AND comfortable, and look equally good with dresses and sporty outfits. If you don’t own a couple of pairs of sneaks, now’s the time to get them!
