These are the fall trends I’m wearing right now!
Fifteen years ago, I went back to work as a Nordstrom Personal Stylist after a maternity hiatus and three kids. On the first day of Round Two of my Nordstrom career, I started reading Who What Wear consistently, and I’ve continued this — I guess you could call it an obsession — almost every single day. I look forward to it every morning … that and my cup of coffee!
Fast forward to NOW, and I’m actually featured in Who What Wear! To say it’s an honor is an understatement. What’s even better is that they continue to feature women of every age, which is great for all of us 🙌 Thank you WWW!
Today’s post is a recap of last week’s article called “I’m a Former Nordstrom Buyer — These are the Fall Trends I’m Wearing the Most.” Though I choose the trends and provide the photos to WWW, the clothing picks in the article are not actually mine — their editors select them. And while I do love what they feature, I thought I would share my own picks with you! I hope you like them 🙂
#1 Oversized blazers
Cinq á Sept blazer | Mother denim | Prada pumps | Balenciaga bag | Sunglasses
A relaxed blazer fits any casual lifestyle. It looks cool during the day with sneakers, and a bit more dressed up at night with sandals (or later, booties). Blazers are a piece I’ll never give up, no matter what … and you shouldn’t either! Grab a couple and you’ll wear them all the time, day and night. Favorites include the one I’m wearing above and of course the Veronica Beard Scuba Dickey jacket and the brand new Miller jacket. I also love this one Here are a few new ones below:
Revolve
Anthropologie
Shopbop
#2 Cardigan sets
Madewell cardigan | Madewell tank | Mother denim | Loewe bag | Jimmy Choo sandals | Poppy Finch necklace
Cardigans are always a classic staple, so this season, try a shorter style layered with a matching top, or you can even wear it alone, slightly unbuttoned. A cardigan set is so versatile, you’ll can wear it all the time. Check out this cardigan and matching top and this one by Who What Wear. Here are two others that have caught my eye!
#3 Saturated colors
Slipdress | Loewe bag here and here | Jimmy Choo sandals | Dior bracelets
Bright, saturated colors are a fall trend to love, starting with this gorgeous green slip dress! I’m on the lookout for other styles in bright pink and orange — a fun departure from black.
#4 Dark denim
Frank & Eileen shirt | J.Crew denim skirt | Golden Goose sneakers | Red handbag | Pearl choker
It’s all about dark-wash denim this season. No rips, no frayed hems; just simple, classic dark denim.
#5 Puff sleeve details
Scotch & Soda dress | Prada pumps | Dior handbag | Sunglasses
Puff sleeves are a fall trend that is here to stay. So, try some dresses like the one above, as well as pretty tops with your favorite denim.
Tops
Dresses
#6 Animal print
Frame blouse | Mother denim | Schutz sandals | Gucci bag
Animal print is now considered a neutral print, and it always works, especially with white or black. This season there are many new styles to try, like this Frame blouse with stylish ruching sleeve details. So feminine and pretty!
#7 Embellished details
Embellished t-shirt | Vince sweater | Sunglasses
You’ve gotta love anything with sparkles and embellishments, and there are cool pieces everywhere — t-shirts, hair accessories, even sunglasses. Next on the fall trend list: shoes!
