The only shoe that works with every outfit

The only shoe that works with every outfit: nude

Every single outfit you can think of works when it’s paired with a nude shoe.  This is why owning several pairs in different styles will make all your outfits come together!  Everything from a going out sandal like the one I’m wearing above, to a casual flip flop (my current faves here), to a mid-heel casual sandal — they ALL work.  I just bought these and wore them during Mom’s Weekend to run around OSU!  And there are varying shades of nude, from slightly pink, to more golden tones, so you do have many choices.  The trick is to try them on your feet and make sure the color works with your particular skin tone.

While recently evaluating my own shoe situation, I discovered I had 8 pairs of nude shoes!  I know that sounds a little over the top, but in my defense I’ve acquired them over the past several years.  Here’s the thing though: I actually wear them all!  And that says something, because there are some shoes (and clothing) items that don’t get nearly that kind of love.

Bonus:  They make your legs go on forever!!

It’s true!  The nude color makes your foot disappear, giving the illusion of longer legs!  This makes me VERY confident that owning more than one pair will make you (and your closet) super happy.  And more importantly, all your spring outfits will come together much more easily. That right there is the whole purpose of shopping wisely!!

Keep reading for my personal 8 and some new favorites worth considering, and a little street style for inspiration!

Dressier occasions

While both of these shoes can be worn with denim, truth be told, I typically wear these for dressier occasions.  The Prada pumps have been in constant rotation for more elegant events, but they’re comfy enough to wear all day to work and they look great with denim. The Vince Camuto sandals are a recent purchase.  The night before the Project Lemonade event a couple of weeks ago, they came home with me. They were comfortable for 4 hours, and then I took them off 🙂 They have the look of a designer shoe, so it’s hard to believe they’re only $98!

Everyday casual with 2-3” heel

These are the perfect, go-to, wear-everyday shoes for work, for going out with friends, with a dress to brunch, to Mom’s Weekends … you get the idea.  Super versatile.  These Madewell ones served me well this past weekend for walking all over campus – the perfect mix of a little height but also casual.  I’ve written about these Jeffrey Campbell PVC wedges before. They are currently sold out at Nordstrom, although they could get re-stocked, but for now they’re available here.  I’m certain they will get you miles and miles of wear! Isn’t that the best kind of purchase?

everyday casual flat shoes

Both of these shoes have been worn and worn again.  And we aren’t even in summer yet! I picked these up for our trip to Hawaii, and I’m so glad I did.  Disclosure: I’ve worn the Valentino’s 2:1 over the Tory Burch flip flops, but I’m happy to have both!

If I didn’t own 8 already, these would be strong contenders!!

I’ve had my eye on these iconic Manolo’s forever, and these Valentino‘s are the perfect heel height, which would add the perfect edginess to every outfit.  And then here are these Vince mules, similar to these I’ve raved about.  As you can see I really have a love affair with nude shoes!!
