Tartan prints are making a comeback, thank you Gucci and Balenciaga. From tartan tops to dresses to accessories, this pattern is everywhere and is perfectly suited to the season. Bright and festive, one piece is all you need: a tartan pump, a new dress, or a fun blouse will give your outfit an instant holiday lift!

However, tartan plaid is no longer just for the holidays. As a matter of fact, I think it’s cooler and way more stylish to think of it NOT as a holiday piece, but rather as a pattern you can wear right into the new year.  I love this outfit above SO much, I can’t stop thinking about how to re-create it.  The Manolo Blahnik plaid mule (pictured above) is so perfect, I’ve added it to my xmas shopping wish list!!  And, the pearl pouch is the ideal edgy touch to this outfit.

Even Meghan Markle sported a navy and green tartan Burberry coat to run around Scotland awhile back (how appropriate!). She wore it over a simple turtleneck and black trousers, with a super stylish Strathberry cross body bag.
