There are some things only stylists know! For many years, I met friends and clients in “Room 3,” which I lovingly referred to as my work office! It was such a special time; we had so many intimate conversations that went way beyond the clothes. I’ve always loved helping women look and feel their best, and It’s my sincere desire to help us all feel stylish, beautiful, and put together every single day.

Today’s post is about the sophisticated shade that’s the secret to a polished wardrobe. Several years ago, I was helping a good friend, and when we walked into the dressing room, the most beautiful bag was hanging on the hook. It was a creamy, saddle-brown caramel shade that completely changed the way I think about color. Since then, it’s become my go-to for making any outfit look more expensive. Whether you’re styling a casual weekend look or something for a special event, adding a touch of caramel is the quickest way to pull everything together. It’s sophisticated, elegant and timeless — a true classic. There’s a reason that I’ve worn this Loewe tote for years. This is probably the most important caramel-colored piece to own. Find one you love at a price that works, then make the investment. This time of year, I love a caramel/canvas combo like this one, and Quince makes a really great dupe for the Loewe bag. Remember, a bag can have just a touch of the brown/caramel color for it to elevate your outfits. There are so many great options, I just found several at Zara like this, this and this.

I suggest making sure you have several shoe options – you’ll wear them all the time! One brand I’ve been loving lately is Margaux, which is now available at Nordstrom. They’re so comfortable, and I just ordered several pairs, and decided to keep this pair and this pair. Just choose one that’s versatile and it’ll go with every single thing you own. Again, caramel is the one color that always works!
Caramel accessories are the finishing touch
Accessories complete every outfit, so definitely add a caramel-colored belt or a cool scarf to your accessory collection. This affordable Madewell belt is the perfect shade. For a designer splurge, try this Prada one or this one by Loewe. Watches are another way to add a little interest. And, while tying a scarf to your bag isn’t necessary, it’s a really fun touch if you find one you love. You can work magic on your outfits by adding the right accessories — so have fun with it!
