Of all the things I create for So Susie, capsule wardrobes are always at the top of the list. And, I think this spring one is especially good! I spent hours carefully selecting the right pieces for this capsule wardrobe, mixing in a few standout items that really pull everything together. These pieces create endless outfit combinations, which makes getting dressed so much easier. Of course, since we’re heading into a brand-new season, now is the perfect time to start thinking about our spring wardrobes.

In order to create an amazing wardrobe, you have to start with the basics. Then, once you have the basics covered, throw in a trend piece or two. After that, keep things fresh and updated by adding new, colorful accessories. It’s always hard to narrow this down, but the pieces below are ones I recommend as we head into the spring season. Why I chose it: The funnel neck jacket is having a moment, and this one by Veronica Beard caught my eye. Love the color, and it’s another piece that will make many outfits.

Why I chose it: I used this jacket on last years spring capsule, and then it immediately sold out. So, when I recently spotted it again, I knew it needed to be included this year. This is the perfect blazer length to wear with all your wide-leg and flare jeans. It’s comfortable, and the hoodie adds a casual touch. This color is a soft white, making it a great option to wear all year long

Why I chose it: Denim jackets are always a wardrobe staple this time of year, but sometimes it’s time for an update! This boxy, slightly shorter style is super stylish and well-priced, and you’ll wear it with everything including dresses, skirts and jeans.

Why I chose it: Sometimes having a special piece in your wardrobe takes all your basics up a notch! Recently in NYC, I spotted a designer brocade jacket that I’ve been dreaming about. But then, I saw this one that’s almost better, and way more affordable. Wear it with jeans, skirts and even over a dress.

Why I chose it: Everyone needs a trench jacket in their closets, and this fun one caught my eye. I love the length — feels new and modern this season, and I can imagine many outfits with it.

Barbour Reversible Jacket

Why I chose it: This season, we’re seeing lots of “car coats,” or simple button front and slightly shorter trench jackets. This one is reversible, which is a great detail, and navy feels a little springier this time of year.
