The Denim Edit: The Hottest Jeans This Winter — and How to Style Them
Denim is always a favorite topic here at So Susie, and for good reason, since so many great outfits start with the perfect pair of jeans! I’m always looking for my next pair of favorite jeans, and I think I found them 😊 After years of helping clients and friends one-on-one in the dressing room, I learned the importance of really getting your jeans right. And, while we don’t need hundreds of pairs, having several cool and modern styles is the key to making super stylish outfits.
Today’s post is a Denim Edit: the hottest jeans this winter, and how to style them. I’m sharing a list of the denim everyone will be wearing now and into next year. Along with embellished jeans to relaxed and wide-leg fits (such as barrel leg jeans), there will be a resurgence of slim and high waisted flares. #1 – Paige Anessa – “The jeans that fit everyone” — and it’s true, they really do fit everyone! The lighter washes are super stretchy, making them very comfortable. I prefer the 31″ which is a long length style. And, if you’re petite, many of the washes are available in a 29″ inseam. These black coated ones are new favorites, and I just picked up this new dark wash from Anthropologie. #2 – Mother Hustler Roller (long length) – These might be the favorite pair of jeans in my closet! They’re available in a dark wash denim, as well as this perfect washed black color. They’re super flattering, and everyone loves them. If you’re petite, click here and here for options. #3 – Madewell Pieced Barrel – Can’t say enough good things about Madewell barrel jeans, and the best part is they are available in petite sizes. #4 – Mother Hustler Ankle – I’ve had these jeans for years, and they’re still one of my favorites. There are times when you want to wear a flat shoe like loafers or sneakers, and want a little ankle to show … these are the ones to grab. They’ve been best-sellers for years, and are a top-seller at Mother denim. Available here in petite sizes. #5 – Here’s the new jean I just discovered: Mother Kick-It – A long length, straight leg jean that’s so flattering on! It’s helpful to have the inside scoop 😉 My Nordstrom Stylist friend shared that everyone who tries this jean on, buys it! You also know that when a brand adds a petite size, you know it’s a good one.

Straight-leg jeans are a classic style that everyone should have in their denim collection. They work with every style of shoe: boots to sandals to flats (depending on the length you go with). They’re super slimming and you’ll have them for years to come.

#3 Wide-Leg Jeans
The wide-leg jean continues to be a mainstay when it comes to denim, and I find it to be one of the most versatile styles available. If you add a blazer or nice jacket, you’ll instantly feel polished and put together. Wide-leg jeans also look amazing with boots, sneakers and casual jackets or sweaters. These are your go-to-everyday jeans.

#4 Soft Barrel Jeans
Yep it’s true, everyone’s wearing a version of this jean! This season, look for more toned down versions like this one from Mother.
