I’m a Former Nordstrom Buyer—These Are the 8 Fall Trends I’d Actually Wear!
Believe it or not, my partnership with Who What Wear is coming up on six years! This month was extra special because my friend and Senior Editor, Bobby Schuessler, was also in NYC for Fashion Week, and we had dinner together. After five years of emailing and messaging on Instagram, we finally met IRL! We enjoyed a lovely evening at Via Carota in the West Village, and now we have a little shopping project in the works. I’ll share more once it all comes together!
For this article, Bobby asked me to weigh in on the trends I’ll be wearing this fall. You can read the article, “I’m a Former Nordstrom Buyer—These Are the 8 Fall Trends I Care About, Period” – here. Like many of you, I’m always on the lookout for wearable trends that elevate our basics. So, I rounded up some of my favorites that I think you’ll love. These pieces are modern and will keep your wardrobe looking fresh and updated. You’ll find everything from a coveted outerwear style to the denim cut that’s about to be used on repeat. I try really hard to keep you in the know 😉
P.S. Today’s post is a recap from my latest WWW article, which you can read here. When the article first appears in WWW, the clothing selections are made by Bobby and his team (he also chooses the title). But, when I recap the article, the items shared are MY picks. I hope you like them!

The Fall Edit: What’s Catching My Eye This September
5 No-Fail Outfit Formulas That Always Work
#1 Stand Collar Jackets

Jacket | Mother Hustler Roller jeans, petites here | Sandals | Amazon bag
The minute I spotted the cool Chloé jacket that was seen all over the runways, I knew I’d need to find a version to recommend. So when this one appeared, I snatched it up. The stand collar and the puff-sleeve detail are so chic!
#2 Barrel-leg Jeans

Anine Bing sweatshirt | Madewell barrel jeans, more sizes | Sandals | Chanel bag, similar
You’ll be surprised at how this denim will update everything in your wardrobe! Whether you wear them now with sandals or later with boots, your styling options are endless. The pair I’m wearing above also come in petite and tall.
#3 Lace Trimmed Skirts

Leather bomber | Doen skirt | Sandals | Ivory bag
Slip skirts are classic pieces at this point, but this season, lingerie-inspired skirts are the newest style to try. They’re beautifully cut, made of pretty material, and celebs are loving them. Style them with luxurious sweaters or leather … so stylish!
#4 Trench Coats

Black trench | Brown top | Frame coated pants | Sandals
It’s the time of year to make sure your trench coats are updated. Whether you’re going for a long version or a cropped version, look for a jacket that has a relaxed fit. It’ll make layering easy, and it will instantly elevate your fall outfits.
#5 Barn Jackets

Barbour jacket | White tee | Black jeans | Booties | Celine bag
Every brand is doing some version of a barn jacket, and it has become kind of a wardrobe classic at this point. It’s practical, and the styling options are endless—try it with jeans or with skirts. It’s the perfect transitional piece to have in your closet this season.
#6 Fair Isle Sweaters

Fair Isle sweater | Frame jeans | Prada slingbacks | Sunnies
It’s sweater season, and this timeless classic is a piece that I highly recommend adding to your wardrobe this fall. It’s versatile enough to wear with denim, slip skirts, or trousers, and it’s practical once the weather cools down.
#7 Fall Dresses

Suede dress | Sandals | Dior bag
Once the season shifts, I always recommend adding a dress or two to your wardrobes. Once you find a classic style, you can style it many different ways. Loving dresses with knee boots and cozy layers on top!
#8 Loose Jeans

Cropped trench | Mother jeans | Bottega bag | Sandals
These looser, long-length styles are my new favorites! They’re super comfy and relaxed, and I plan on wearing them now with sandals and later with boots.
