Writing this little blog is truly my happy place, and I love my work with all my heart 🤍 Starting a small business in my mid-50s has been the journey of a lifetime, and I’m really grateful that I get to meet some of you in person — sometimes in random places! For example, a few weeks ago in Palm Beach while playing bingo at the Colony Hotel (LOL), a follower from West Virginia came over and introduced herself. As I always say: every stylish outfit begins with a great pair of jeans. This is why it’s so important to make sure you have several well-fitting, current styles. I get asked lots of denim questions everyday — everything from “are skinnies coming back” to “where should your jeans hit” and more. I realize buying jeans can be tricky, and even more so online. My Nordstrom co-workers and I used to joke that it was as bad as trying on swimsuits!! Yes, it can definitely be challenging … and I’m here to help! After all, denim is my specialty 💙

After spending over two decades in the Nordstrom dressing room, I came up with a simple trick that works every time: invest in neutral shoes! This is the key to getting dressed successfully, and your outfits will always come together if you add a neutral shoe.
So, what exactly are “neutral shoes?” Neutral shoes includes everything from metallic sandals to soft white shoes to the color that works magic with all your outfits (ie, caramel).
