Everything I Packed for a Week in LA!

A couple of days ago, I landed in sunny LA for a fun week of dinners, business meetings, a little pool time, and of course, some shopping! I always get the best ideas when I’m visiting LA, and usually I spot a few trends that we can all get excited about. This time, I decided to stay at the Beverly Hills Hotel, which is a favorite. They had just opened a Dior pop up shop, and the pool area had been transformed with Dior umbrellas and lounge chairs. It all looked so pretty, I decided to sneak in some iPhone photos below!

Later in the week, it was off to San Diego, where I met up with my N6 friends to preview the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. It’s hard to believe it’s right around the corner! Today’s post is about what I packed for several types of events during a week in California. You know, preparing for a trip like this can be tricky — it’s easy to overpack (like I did!). Does that sound familiar? For packing inspo, I selected pieces from recent style boards. Keep reading for a new travel outfit idea, along with some great summer staples you might like, no matter where you’re going!

Full disclosure: I’m not a packing expert, and I realize there are some things that probably should have stayed behind 😬 But, that’s what happens when you pack the night before, and don’t take the time to think through every outfit. I’m just like many of you — figuring it out as I go. So, the bottom line is, try not to overpack. Just do the best you can!

Los Angeles shopping favorites

Melrose Place: Love Veronica Beard and Zimmermann, Frame, and of course, Alfred Coffee. I spotted these jeans at Frame, this dress at VB and this dress at Zimmermann.

Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills: If you’re looking for designer shoe inspo, this is hands down the best place in all my travels. I’m always amazed at the inventory from every single brand we love. These slingbacks are super stylish, and these splurge slingbacks are as well.

Pacific Palisades: The Serena & Lily store here is a fave, and this outdoor table, lamp and vintage bird prints caught my eye. The Anine Bing store is also a must-stop, and I picked up this new capri blue sweatshirt. Last year, everyone on my team purchased an Anine Bing sweatshirt and we’re all still wearing them 🙂 I also popped into Jennifer Meyer and fell in love with this necklace.

Nordstrom, Century City: I can’t come to LA and not poke around at Nordstrom! I found this new tweed jacket from L’Agence, and this cute new dress from Farm Rio.

Style Board inspo

Sticking to a color palette is always a great idea when packing for a trip. And, it’s a great way to make sure all your outfits come together. This pretty orange dress caught my eye, and it’s the perfect pop of color against the soft blues and whites. See below for everything I packed, plus a little style board inspo!
