A budget-friendly winter capsule wardrobe!
Recently, I shared a brand new Winter capsule wardrobe with all of you to make it easy to put together winter outfits. I love creating these collections, and you seem to like them as well 😊 But, I’m often asked for more affordable options, so last week in the middle of the night, this capsule came to me. I wondered if I could find really similar pieces to the original capsule that also would make the best outfits … and I did!
Today’s post contains a budget-friendly winter capsule wardrobe. It’s everything I found for affordable options to the original winter capsule wardrobe (see last week’s here). Some pieces, like the Vuori jogger and Nike hat, remained. The Mango wrap coat is so good, I purchased it myself! So is this graphic sweatshirt and this best-selling cardigan. Also, I believe in spending a little more on jeans you’ll wear all the time, so they’re in there too. When it comes to graphic tees, it’s hard to beat Anine Bing, and if you’re only going to purchase one or two, it’s best to spend a little more and find versatile styles that make a lot of outfits.

ALL-IMPORTANT JACKETS
ONE OF THE MAIN ITEMS OF EVERY GREAT WARDROBE
Row 1: Ivory Jacket | Camel Wrap Coat | Denim Jacket | Shirt Jacket | J.Crew cardigan | Faux Leather Blazer | Black Coat
These stylish jackets will get you through most any social situation. For example, a camel coat looks amazing with denim, but it’s also goes well with many dresses. This camel coat is super cute, and is a great alternative for Anine Bing’s Dylan coat in camel and black. For more casual jackets, try this ivory jacket or this quilted Varley one! Finally, warm shirt jackets are perfect for winter, so look at this cozy green plaid one.
LAYERING PIECES
YOU ONLY NEED A FEW TO COMPLETE YOUR OUTFITS
Row 2: Striped Tee | Turtleneck | Cotton Blouse | Fleece | Cardigan | Striped Sweater | Half Zip Sweater
Sometimes people ask me how many white t-shirts I own. The answer is TWO!! A few good layering pieces will cover you for all occasions. This ATM t-shirt may seem spendy, but it’s worth it. I love a camel sweater, and this one is a good one. An oversized poplin shirt is a year-around staple, and this pretty blue is so versatile. Right now striped sweaters are everywhere, and this one is right on trend. For another affordable version that I’ve been loving, look at this one.
Well-fitting bottoms
The starting point of every outfit
Row 3: Mini Boot Denim | Trouser | Blue Denim | Grey Denim | Bootcut jeans | Black Joggers | Bright Dress | Sweater Dress
Ideally, owning three pairs of jeans (white or écru, faded denim and black) will cover you in the wardrobe department. I adore this faded Mother style, and this Paige one is a good one. The Vuori jogger is the perfect weekend option, and trousers are the staple bottom to own. These trousers from Abercrombie keep selling out. For dresses, this green one is brand new, and a perfect way to liven up your wardrobe. For cozier styles, a sweater dress is perfect, like this new boxier style by Topshop.
Stylish accessories
The key to completing your outfits
Row 4: Bucket Bag | Scarf | Card Holder | Baseball Hat | Wallet | Sunglasses | Earrings | Black Bag
Fun, stylish accessories elevate all your outfits, and I recommend investing in the best bag you can. For example, the Gucci bucket bag has been one of my best purchases but here’s a solid alternative from Tory Burch. Baseball hats work all year around, and I love this new green Nike one. For simple gold earrings, these fit the bill. Scarves are back for for a reason — they go with everything. Try this plaid one or this best-selling scarf wrap. And finally, sunglasses always add a glamorous touch, and having one pair (like these) you feel really good in works wonders!
Shoes, shoes, shoes!
Not much to say, except who doesn’t love new shoes?
Row 5: Sneaker | Flats | Camel Boot | Metallic Sandal | Black Sandal | Black Boot | Black Loafer
Neutral shoes go with everything, so they’re usually my suggestion for all your outfits. A great nude flat just kind of disappears and makes your legs go on forever, and ballet flats are the shoe to own right now. A metallic sandal like this by Vince Camuto is perfect for dressier outfits. For an everyday bootie, I still love the camel color so try these. And finally, New Balance sneakers are good ones to own, and they’re $100. Grab a pair when you find your size — they’re selling quickly!
