8 Pieces that will get you through winter!❄️

Since winter officially starts this month, I decided to review my closet to see which items I’ll be wearing on repeat for the coming season. Of course, this required a bit of “blog research” 😉 and I’m excited to share my findings with you! While none of these pieces will come as a big surprise, there are some brand new things I’ve discovered and I think you’ll love them too. This post is about the 8 pieces that will get you through winter feeling stylish and warm!

I don’t know about you, but I look forward to the Winter Solstice every year because it means that from here on out, days will get longer. Who doesn’t want a little more daylight? And along with longer days ahead, a new year is coming, and I think we’re all looking forward to that ✨ So wrap up in some of these selections below and settle in for a cozy,

Favorite camel coat — this is a good one

These faded Mother jeans caught my eye

Loving ballet flats, and this pair by Gucci is so cute!

#1 The amazon coat that has over 20k reviews!

Orolay coat | Sh*t That I Knit Hat | Frame denim | Aquatalia boots | Gucci sunglasses This coat by Oralay, known as the “Amazon coat,” has over 20k reviews! I’ve had my eye on it for quite some time, but was worried it would be too much “coat” for me. Well, I was pleasantly surprised when the one above arrived in the mail. It’s definitely puffy, but it’s so cozy, and my husband keeps commenting on how much he likes how it looks on me 😊 Give it a try, it’s a good one! And, Orolay was kind enough to share an exclusive discount code for an extra 20% off: SOSU1220.

#2 Travel outfit

Left: Rag & Bone blazer | Similar hoodie | Fendi crossbody | Beis luggage | Naghedi tote | Gucci loafers | Right: Anine Bing utility jacket | Alexander McQueen sneakers | Monos luggage | Beis Weekender bag

Having a go-to travel outfit is the key to looking stylish on long travel days. I usually go for leggings, sneakers and a cozy hoodie (no surprise!), as well as a cashmere wrap. In the winter, I usually take this one I picked up at Bloomingdales. Other times, I bring this Nordstrom cashmere/silk one that I’ve had for years — it’s a good one. For luggage, the Beis suitcase above is a new purchase, and for a weekend travel bag, this Beis one is the best. I’ve taken it on countless trips, and it holds way more than you would think!

#3 Soft fleece

Jack: Vuori zip hoodie | Joggers | Sneakers | Susie: Zella jacket | SneakersVuori hoodie | Joggers | Naghedi tote | Luggage Right: | Abercrombie fleece | Mother denim | Golden Goose sneakers | Givenchy bag

In my regular life, I’m not much of a fleece-sweatshirt person — but in recent years, out of necessity, I’ve really come to love fleece pieces — especially this favorite from Abercrombie. I’ve had this one for three years, and still reach for it on cold, winter days. The price is very reasonable, and they also make great gifts. Some other fleece items I’ve spotted lately include this one and this one, both from Nordstrom.

#4 Cozy pajamas and slippers

J.Crew pajamas | Book: A Great Party | Necklaces: short one, middle one, longer one

I have a thing for pj’s and robes, and this is the time of year that the Lingerie department is packed! You’ll find everything from cashmere robes to silky pajamas, and lots of cozy staples. My favorite pajamas include this J.Crew pair, the Nordstrom Moonlight PJs, and anything from the brand Papinelle. I’ve been contemplating this feather trimmed set or this zebra set – so cute. You just can’t go wrong, and now is the time to stock up!

#5 Everyone should own a hoodie!

Leather jacket | Hoodie | Mother Dazzler | Givenchy bag | Prada pumps

I’m starting to sound like a broken record (!!) but it took me a while to locate the right hoodies this year, and I finally did. They’re perfect for layering (read this blog post), and they’re so comfy you won’t want to take them off. Check this one out I shared on Instagram yesterday, it’s a good one too. While it looks like I dress up all the time, in all honesty I’m usually in a hoodie these days. It’s my uniform 🙂

#6 Longer wool coats

Grey coat, similar | Mother denim | Veronica Beard turtleneck, this years version | Prada pumps | Givenchy bag

The great thing about these stylish, versatile coats is that you can wear them over literally any outfit. Go casual with jeans, a t-shirt or a hoodie and some cool sneakers, or upscale with a dress and boots, or with a cashmere sweater and faux leather pants or flared denim. A classic color like camel, gray or black is also a good idea. This is a classic winter staple, and everyone needs one! I love the Dylan coat by Anine Bing, and this one is also on my radar.

#7 Jacket cardigans

Left: J.Crew cardigan | Gucci scarf | Madewell jeans | Jack: Vuori Jogger | TopSusie: J.Crew cardigan | Vuori jogger | Vuori hoodie | YSL Handbag

I’ve talked about these J.Crew jacket cardigans for years – and I still reach for them on a regular basis. They’re usually on sale, and so now is a good time to pick one up. The Juliette style runs quite roomy, I’m wearing an xxs.

#8 Cozy blankets and candles

Nordstrom Signature Sweater | Frame Insider Jeans | Candle

This time of year, being cozy at home with a cashmere blanket and special candle burning is one of my favorite indulgences. Here are some of my favorite pieces below — I’ve tried them all and they’re amazing. I’ve been collecting the Williams Sonoma cashmere blankets for years and have one in every room! I also love the candle section at Anthropologie — great for gifts.
